Ok, I've gone through the confirmed cars list and pic's at maskrider's site and grabbed the cars that have competed at Le Mans.

Below is a database of the time it took in Qualifying for the race that year. This however doesn't take into the consideration if it was wet or not.

Along with the confirmed cars, I've included others that we had strong evidence that they maybe in the game and/or are models of cars in GT4 that have had race history there, obviously they'd be different ot the cars we get in GT4 but incase a 'special' pops up.

Others are cars that we at one time thought were in, were in previous GT's or are 'specials' from Manufacturers in the game. I haven't listed manufactures such as Marcos or Lancia that sent something 'badged' to Le Mans at one time. Didn't include some marques that had been in the GT series but may not be in GT4 i.e. Venturi.

List BTW only goes back as far as 1984 and were sourced from here...

During 1983, Jacky Ix's Porsche 956 lapped Le mans in an incrediable time of 3:16.56 seconds/152mph average speed.


The Le mans laps on the 'IN CAR 956' video are definately the highlight - 246mph down the main straight is absoluately devastating! :)

I NEVER get tired of seeing it.

A little less than 0.01%???

This is here so you can get the Bentley Speed8 or Audi R8 (as standard) and try to match your time with their 'RL' times around Le Mans.

Yeah mate, I know the 956 isn't in GT4 and I know why the list is here. I'm just saying how amazing the 956's time is that's all.

BTW - do you know where that video is of the 956?

Look at those LM's... isn't it criminal only to compete against 5 at any one time??? There should be a couple of each on different strategies to compete against... :(

Not with that stupid AI in the drivers seat. Maybe with GT5. Here's to hoping, eh?

Why has the Lister Storm V12 ALWAYS sucked? Even in GT2 with 550+ bhp it couldn't even beat the GT350 cars!

Love your work Hellnback! The issue I’m having with the NTSC/J version of GT4 is that one cannot select the opponents. It is of note that the game generally provides a mixed car field. Hence, if you desire to recreate a group C Le mans race, be prepared for R8s and speed 8s spoiling the fun…

Here’s hoping that the Pal version is more sensitive to our LM needs.

Edit: the arcade mode puts the Escudo up against the likes of the Mc F1, CLK LM, and the Panoz. Watching it spearing off into the gravel at every turn is anything but amusing.
 
Glad to see the Peugeot 905, that car was a joy to drive in Test drive Le Mans. Can't wait to see Polyphony's version of it.
 
The lemans racing in GT4 will be kinda of sad with only 5 other competitors. I wish they would increase that for the endurance races, especially lemans. Too bad there are no porsches in the game. All the 911 GT cars would be sweet.
 
I wonder what the speed will be of that Peugeot 905 on the unchicaned Le Mans track.

That's not altogether unsurprising, but it's still annoying... it would be perfect if you could manually select each opponent, or failing that, limit a race to a specific class of car... still, unlike the sentiments reflected in the 'Official changes to GT4/Things wanted for GT5' thread, I'm not going to be battering the doors down at Polyphony Digital to remonstrate with them about it, although it would be nice to have a level playing field in every race despite what car you select...

I take it that GT4 laptimes on this circuit compare quite closely to these real times?

huuhuhu, i have this complete video in my pc, FOR FREE!! :D :D

He laps in many tracks, Derek Bell driving, nice video. Quality is not awesome but ok. The file i have is 700 MB size. Complete. :D

ps: don´t be surprised or happy with Derek Bell´s driving. If u think those 6"41 at nordschleife were awesome, just forget it. He did a great lap, and i could see room for improvements.

BTW, a guy called Stefan Bellof, who was for 2 years a F1 driver racing for Tyrrel in 1984 and 85, had just laped, with the same car, an insane time of... 6"11, that´s "JUST" 30 seconds down of Derek Bell´s lap in the vid. This Bellof´s lap is the World Record lap at the ring. And it was made in 1983 if i am not wrong.

Also Bellof´s done a great job during 1983 and 1984 wich he raced for rothman´s porsche in some endurance races aside Jack Yckx(i dunno how to type his name).

He unfortunatelly died in an accident with Jack Yckx(i don´t know how to type correctly his name) when he tried to overtake Jack.
