I have used the search button for all of the threads in GT1 and found what is your favorite track so I will start a thread about your least favorite.

What is your least favorite track in GT1.
Mine is Autumn ring mini, too short, and you would think that I would have said SS11 but I find it nice unlike the GT3 version.

When I first started playing I hated Grand Valley because of the two deadly hairpins and the gravel traps that awaits whenever you spun your car :scared:. But now it's one of my favourite tracks 👍, that same two hairpin which was my nemesis now become my best ally for leaving opponents behind :D.

I don't think I hate any tracks in GT, but if I rank all tracks in order of favouritism the bottom would be occupied by Deep Forest. I don't deny that it's a great track to test your skill, with some nice slow, medium and high speed corners and elevation changes. The sensation of blasting through the forest so close to the trees and that cliff face on the backstraight is awesome. But...the track is not flowing. It's difficult to find any rhythm to the corners, they feel 'detached' from one another. So driving on Deep Forest is a bit of a chore for me. The lack of kerbs dividing the road from the grass in the forest section is also annoying, because of this small mistakes (like going wide a little bit) are punished severely. But I'm less concerned about this as you can utilise it for 'gutter driving' (sort of) if you do it right.

Wonder who'll pick Test Course?
And I'll be so pissed at whoever picks SSR11 as their least favourite track.........
Nah just kidding ;)

i really hate the oval ring, the one with the hump on the top. it's just trying to see how fast a car can go with no real skill i think.

For me, it's always been Autumn Ring. Damn thing feels like a go-kart course; it's too narrow and technical to really be used by anything larger than a tricycle.

Really? I always dug Autumn Ring! It's like the ultimate SCCA amateur dream-track.

Of all the tracks in GT1, I had issues with Route 11 when I first drove there, but I'm not gonna say I truly hated it. Right now, I don't have a least favorite in GT1. I like 'em all.

GT2: least favorite is Rome Short. Not because the track itself, but because of the way the Ai drives it--slamming into you in the famous L-corner at the end of the backstretch.

In GT4, I think my least favorite rite now is Seoul Central.

There's no track I really hate, but Clubman R5 is sort of boring, being so cut-down from the full track, and wall-riding is so tempting... Especially in the reverse version (watch the exit of the last tunnel though; you can frequently see the AI get hung up on there).

Agreed. Route 5 Clubman is only half the fun. :indiff:

Seoul sucks because it seems the Ai never drives to the best of its ability. And when they try, they start smacking walls. It's such an easy track, but whenever I drive there, I need to downgrade my power because the Ai apparently can't handle it!

Odd that they can usually handle Route 246, tho...in the same race-series! :grumpy:

Hard to say; I have always liked the courses, and the ones I hated at first were the ones I eventually grew to like in the end. Good point, HACKr.

I didn't like the SS11 because of the sudden death collisions
under the long strait. driving some stock cars there was fun ,
but racing modified beasts getting suddenly stuck or
suffering a head on collision in air ( out side of the corner ) :D

Special Stage Route 11 by a coast. Trust me, it's so hard I end up wallriding most of the races around there!!

Meh. I really don't have a least favorite track in GT1! Now, from GT2 onwards, well, THAT'S a completely different story!

Hands down... Autumn Ring. I hate it even more in GT4 especially being forced to race Le Mans cars around this track in reverse (Gran Turismo All-Stars). This was always that off-balance track that throws you off every time. Should have just made Autumn Ring Mini and just somehow put in many garages and pit boxes to suit... 16-40 cars. That's my lease favorite one if I had to choose.

John BM: AUTUMN RING? till this day I still think it's one of the underappreciated tracks! I wish there was an Autumn Ring endurance, matter of fact. I could do an hour there no prob.

Interesting stuff Sport Wagon. 👍

I clearly agree that Autumn Ring is a bit underrated, but any track really underrated its High Speed Ring.

As for least favorite, it has to be SSR11...its one of the more boring tracks.

Route 11? Boring? I can assure you, your opinion is a rare one.

That's the best Clubman stage the last one. The corners are treacherous and you can still pick up speed. Amazing track.

My least favorite ?? C'mon everybody, TEST TRACK !! It gets so annoying drafting the opponents over and over again, then holding a random line going left and right when trying to just go around the two "corners" or huge turns.

Its probably going to be Deep Forest IMO. The reverse variation to too cheap in the middle sector. I wish it could be a tropical circuit in GT5, being the GP circuit of all the Tahiti circuits ever in GT.

It seems that a lot of people hate the Test Course because of its lack of challenge. I used to think the same, but after driving Daytona Speedway in GT5P I can assure you, Oval Racing in real life is not boring at all, in contrary, it's terrifying. Not technically demanding, but heart stopping and very very hard on the body (you won't believe the G-forces on those 2 banked turns).

The Test Course in GT & GT2 is actually quite cool, with all its bumps. It only truely gets boring in 3 & 4.

I've got a few:

Seattle Short. Let's take everything that made the full Seattle great (the bumps, elevation change, fast corners, etc) and get rid of it. Now it's just a boring, less than average street course!

Tahiti Road was also pretty bad. Requires no skill and is a chore to drive. Same with Seoul Central.

But by far my least favorite track in a GT game is Tsukuba Circuit. I know there are some out there who really, really like it but I just can't see why. It's repetitive, it's in a ton of games, and I'm tired of driving it.

On a seperate note I really loved the stadium atmosphere of the old High Speed Ring in GT1 and GT2. Not a fan of the resurrected version in GT4 and GT5P. Same thing with Route 11. The original with the underground tunnel section is better than the GT3 version in my opinion.

Err..those tracks are in GT2. This is a GT1 forum. Good points though, I never really liked Short versions of courses (Seattle, Rome, etc), they always feel butchered and lacking. It's good for earlier races though, when you only have 60 hp on your Kei car and the top speed is only 50 mph . At least you won't get asleep driving on the long straights .

Tahiti Road is an okay course actually, there's some fast and slow sections. Couple of 90 degree corners, elevations changes, and turn 3/4 IIRC is like a mini Eau Rouge. The last corner also requires some guts to take flat-out, as you can smack into the pit divider if you're just a tad too fast. The thing that lets this circuit down though, is the graphics. I am 100% sure PD spends the least amount of time modelling this circuit. It's way too pixellated, even for PS1 standards :yuck:. Otherwise I think it's a fine circuit.

No comment on Seoul as I've never played GT4.

Again, this track is not in GT1, but I can give you a reason why quite a lot of people like it. Tsukuba is the TOP Time Trial circuit in Japan. Especially for JGTC and JDM/Tuned cars. It's sort of like the Japanese version of Nordschleife (not for length, but for popularity and status as a TT circuit). So I can understand why many people like to drive on it, whether it is to test cars or just to compare their laptimes with real world laptimes. I haven't driven this circuit personally, and from the track map I must say it looks pretty boring. But I'm not counting it out yet.

Hell yes! Another lover of the old HSR & SSR11 :):). I really hate the new HSR in GT5P, it's more beautiful and looks more professional, but HSR isn't supposed to be a top-tier circuit. It's like a high speed go-kart track for normal cars. That said, I doubt the old HSR will suit GT5P/GT5's physics well (banks too steep, kerbs too high, etc). I hope it comes back as a separate version though, HSR - Classic & HSR - Modern :sly:.

As for SSR11, it's the best fictional track EVER (and yes, I mean the GT1 version, not the unchicaned GT3 version). Heaven knows why PD decides to scrap it.
