Hey guys, autoglym is running a competition to win a bag of their goodies and I was interested in entering but I don't know the answer to all the questions. Basically you have to identify the make and model of each car in the pics.

and the pic is:

I'm fairly sure the first is the Morgan Aero(max?), the second is a Jag I have no clue about, the third looks like some sort of Lotus Elise? but it could be an Exige... :S, then bottom left it's a bentley continental flying spur unless i'm mistaken, and bottom right is a vantage.

and anyone help me out with the lotus and jag? at a guess i'd say exige and xk8 but i'm not sure. thanks :) oh and obviously your free to enter the competition too ;)

1st is a Morgan, 3rd looks like a Lotus Elise, 4th I think is a Bentley Continental

2nd photo is an S-Type - but not an S-Type R. The 3rd photo is a regular S2 Elise, not an Exige.

it aint an s-type, its an xj8

Want to take a second guess at that?

S-Type

XJ

I've spent a lot of time in S-Class (two models, one an R) and XJ cabins. The two large dial, two small dial set-up in the binnacle is a dead giveaway that it's an S-Type (the S-Type R has "Supercharged" underneath the mount for the tach needle) and not an XJ, which has three large dials.

Of course the X-type also has a 2x large plus 2x small binicle similar to the S-type...

True enough, but the steering wheel design is the difference there.

That might very well be the clincher - having said that, i've seen at least 3 different wheel designs whilst searching for a X-Type interior shot.

5 cars, only one with an engine made in the UK... if the S-Type isn't a diesel.

*sigh*

oh yeah, i just realised they were meant to be 'british' cars.

the only british maker now is bristol if i'm not mistaken. i have the (only?) showroom just down the road from me...

i was thinkin older XJ, like 98-03, like the one my dad has

They have the dials recessed into a wood fascia, with no clearly defined binnacle.

Take a photo and post it up...

Incidentally, my dad also had a XJ - a 1998 XJ Sport 3.2.

It's a Flying Spur

Not a Continental GT

Not much of a difference there, but the Conti's bootline diverges from the rear 3/4 haunch line, whereas they are parallel on the Flying Spur and the Conti has a dirty great reflector in the side of the rear bumper.

Please note the position, size and shape of the fuel cap.

That, and the rear lights on the Flying Sparta has some more of the body panel above them before it curves into the boot.

Edit: As a side note, the colour of the GT makes me violently ill.

I concur with Danny.

Fuel cap is identical in both the picture in question and Conti GT images. The Flying Spur's doesn't match at all. The styling line right across the side of the Flying Spur isn't on the side of the other two images either.

Well, this is certainly interesting... :D

I was going to add an "IMO" to the last one as I wasn't as sure about it as I was of the earlier S-Type.

You're right about the fuel cap - but you just try and find a Conti without that reflector which ought to be in the thumbnail shot but isn't...

Edit: I've found ONE. But it's a Continental GTC... *tears out own hair*

Hmm? :D

Edit: Maybe they are using the GTC...?

Edit:

That's another one.

That is pretty odd.

Did they just pick out the cars to have reflectors randomly?

The thing is whether it's actually the Coupe or GTC. It's probably impossible to tell from the picture given, though...
