I thought we could do a little experiment to find the best controller configuration for Driveclub.

Process:

Do 5 laps on Black Hills Scotland #1 with the Venom with each configuration and then vote in the poll.

Changing controls in this game has serious effect on times so I thought this might help some who are having difficult with Driveclub's "handling".

Try each one and then vote!
 
What is this slight obsession with using the sticks? I tried using them in several other games and it just felt awkward to me; which leads me to ask, surely it'd be a case of preference rather than a standard that everyone would experience as the same?

I say this as I use a very different combination to those in the poll, and whilst I find them the best (for me) it took a while to acclimatise my hands to using the controller like that, certainly more than five laps.

And because I know you're going to ask ;) I use R1/L1 for gearing and L2/R2 for braking accelerate respectively - or was that the default? I forget now...

Yes, that's the default. :P

Someone in another thread said they can't adjust to Driveclub's handling and it would be useful for them to see what people have success with...

Okay then :lol: I'm so used to having to change it that I assumed.
 
I use;

Accelerate: R2
Brake: L2
Gear Up: Triangle
Gear Down: Circle
DRS: X
KERS: L1
Change View: R1

Quite similar to default but for me definitely faster 👍

With it I got a 2nd place globally on Wester Ross reverse :gtpflag:
 
Can anyone try R2 Throttle + RIght Stick Up Brake?

I'm really curious...

It's the only configuration I can get fast times with
