I apologise for it not being on topic, but after seeing a lot of politically themed avatars, I have a question. In England it's (or at least used to be) quite seriously frowned upon to disclose your political leaning. Is this not the case in North America? I don't mean any offense. Just curious.

All the pictures seem to be loading fine for me. And no, showing your political leaning is not frowned upon at all here. Many many people wear pins and buttons, put bumper stickers on their cars, and put up yard signs on their lawns in support of their favorite candidate.
