StarLight Garage presents another present-day race car, the Lexus IS-F CCS-R which competed in the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The IS-F CCS-R will be driven by professional driver Ken Gushi, who will attempt to take on the 12.42-mile course with 156 turns that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit of America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak.

The CCS-R is based on the road-going IS F but with modifications to prepare it to tackle the mountain. The engine is mostly stock, powered by a 5-liter V8 engine offering 412 horsepower and offering 371 pound-feet of torque. The car has shed 693 pounds and weighs in at 3087 pounds. The eng9ine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters. There is a high-flow exhaust system, additional coolers for the engine oil, transmission oil and a mechanical limited slip differential.
