The #263 NPO MOTO-CP Lexus RX 400h was the first ever hybrid car to finish a 24 major hour race when it completed the 2005 24 Hours of Nurburgring, with full factory support from the Lexus Vehicle Performance Development Division. This is an incredibly important historic landmark and has likely contributed to the rise of the hybrid power-trains that they use in WEC today. Piloted by Marc Duez, Kanami Takeda, Yasushi Kikuchi, and Hitosho Gotoh, this car ran in the S1 Alternative Fuels class where it initially qualified 195th overall with a time of 11 minutes and 42.812 seconds. It ended up finishing 13th in class and 79th overall after having a crash about a quarter way through the race.
