Liberty City Stories on PS2 delayed

"Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories won't be out on PlayStation 2 until at least the end of May, Rockstar reckons.

Speaking to Eurogamer today, a spokesperson said "it's looking like it'll be released after Table Tennis", Rockstar's first Xbox 360 title, which is due out on May 26th.

Rockstar hadn't previously specified a date for Liberty City Stories - a conversion of the successful PSP title of the same name - but sources in retail were expecting the game in late April.

As soon as we have a concrete date, we'll let you know."

All that raw gaming power of a next generation games machine at their fingertips and they're making a freakin' ping pong game? What a waste...

I don't necessarily think it was delayed as the company never announced a release date by press release like they have done for all their other games... just happy a firm date is out there now...

On a more serious note its going to be really interesting with what rockstar come up with with LCS on ps2... because of the size of the map there is so much they could improve like graphics etc....

Actually, after having a think, the detail of the characters in the table tennis game will gve us an indication of what people will look like in the next gen GTA... because all developers do things differently...
 
so who still is gonna get the game although it was delayed or you were with high expectations?
 
First, I'll definitely get it... any reason to visit LC with new missions will be great.... I would not expect any add ons or superior graphics with the PS2 port of this game... the price is that low for a reason... I would not expect many differences between this and GTA III (city wise).... missions and gameplay should be decent, I would not get my hopes up with new features...

once again... I don't think this is a delay... it was the first release date that Rockstar announced-- and is coming in the second quarter of the year which was the only timeline guidance that they ever gave about when the game would be released on PS2... the previously given dates were all by retailers...
 
I'm not expecting anything amazing. I'm thinking of something like GTAIII with bikes and helicopters and a better graphics engine. I'd imagine they'd just use the San Andreas engine for it, which I think is just a modified version of the GTAIII game engine.

Has anyone here played the PSP version?

i think LCS only suits the PSP, i reckon it will be O..K on PS2 but not as good as VC and SA

what is good or not is subjective-- depends on the person... SA didn't do it for me... great missions, but the overall game experience was lacking--- I liked VC and III more then SA...

I'm hoping they used the VC game engine is LCS (like the Liberty city mod for vc).. as the game physics in VC (stunting) were far superior in VC then in SA-- while SA's were more real, VCs were funner... ask any stunter...
 
I think you are, LCS on PSP and the coming to PS2 was posted in many of many forums and game sites
