I bought the logitec 900 degree wheel for gt4 back when that was hot. Anyways I wanna start using it but fear it will only be for fun since I do well with the sixaxis.

anyone out there switch over to the wheel only to see your lap and license times drop ?

I've only used the G25 on my game so far, never had one for GT5P, so basically was learnnig it from scratch when I got GT5.
I went to a mates house and used the controller for his game, and I'd definately say I was quicker with the wheel, considering I've always used controllers and been pretty quick with them.

In saying that, not everyone's experiences are the same.

i agree with everyone the wheel is the way to play and enjoi it, I'm not convinced that the wheel would be the smarter choice for the licenses when your golding them

Try them both out and compare. I think that overall I'm just as fast with the wheel as with the controller, but there are certain things like dirt where I am much faster with the controller, I think because I can countersteer much more quickly on the DS3.

I'm much, much, much faster with the wheel than with the controller. Which is odd because that wasn't the case with GT3 or GT4.

I'm more alive, alert, and ready for more with my G27 (new wheel user). I find that long races make me fall asleep with controller. Also for high powered cars on low speed corners, the wheel helps turning exits smoothly. Only downside right now is when I really lose the rear end, I'll spin out. I seem to countersteer way faster with a controller. I was thinking of loading up Top Gear test track and practice doing drift donuts to aid in my countersteering abilities with the wheel. Overall, I feel faster with my G27 once I'm used to the car/settings.

I have mixed feeling's some I am faster with the wheel (G25) other's I am faster with the controller, like the test where you have to get the Nissan 350z round the two hair pin's getting gold on that was very difficult I had to use the joypad for that as with the wheel my reaction time with turning is not the best lol especially when the wheel kick's and countersteer's and so on... but that's probably my fault not the wheel's. Really I feel its down to personal preference. The wheel is a lot more enjoyable and I use it mainly but I do on occasion's use the joypad.

If it is of any consequence, I am all gold on the first 3 tiers of license tests using only the DFGT. I am also all gold on all the special events other then the AMG series.

There is a learning curve but once you're there, wheel is faster for sure.

After getting gold on the Lotus top gear challenge with no aids, my wheel, trottle and brake control has improved 10x. I doubt the same level of control and feel can he had with a controller...

I have been getting very precise with the brake/gas with the L2/R2 combo. My steering precision would improve with a new sixaxis but whatever. I think that the wheel would be the elite way to play but I'm still out on whether or not the fastest.

the lotus top gear challenge was one of the most fun things I have done in this game yet!

i don't think you are saying this but, you can totally get golds with the controler on that lotus challenge, i did it on my 4th try
