Hi,

PD are saying that they "cannot", "could not" obtain licenses for Ferrari, Porsche, etc. Allright, but..

Porsche has RUF as tuner, and we have RUF in GT. ferrari has tons of tuners, probably, like Koenig (Koenig F50, etc.) Could not they get licences for that?

What about Lamborghini? There was a JGTC Diablo car in the US version of GT3, accesable, i believe only with Pro action replay. But, couldn't they get a license for all the Le Mans cars from FIA?

And where are Buggatti's? Veyron would be surely a nice add...Where is Isdera, and their sports cars? And Koenigsegg? They had some nice sports cars rivaling McLaren.
And Maserati? And Vector, American company? Venturi, which as well as Vector was in the GT2? also small manufacturers as B Engineering (Edonis)..

Maybe they still will include some of these? You would think that small manufacturers of exotic cars would happily allow their cars to be in Gt4?

boy boy!!!....there are over 650(!!!)cars in the game and i think the players will have some "YEAH!-experience" when they see cars they never had expected!!!
....bugatti---why not?...VW and AUDI are already included so why not more parts of the big VW-COMPANY???
....Maserati----don´t think so cuz it belongs to FERRARI and u know what this means---PD can´t obtain!
...Isdera---would be cool(think of the "commendatore!") and CAN BE IN THE GAME---why not??
...Vector---i´m sure it IS in GT4 cuz kazunori said many cars and MANUFACTURES from GT2 will be in GT4, too and vector won´t be left out of course cuz it JUST FITS IN!!
....Venturi----the same as above-->YES very high chance to be in GT4!;>
...B Engineering---hmmm...could be but don´t think so just for ONE car a new Manufacture(but in GT3 it was so, too--->Gillet was ONE Manufacture with only ONE car)so it could be!

TOO MANY THREADS LIKE THIS MAN READ THEM ALL RIGHT NOW PLEASE OR YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED BY A MOD. oops caps. RUF makes their own body shells so they are not a TUNER of Porsche basilcy they are a company that has cars looking like Porsches but not actually Porsches.
 
Exactly. RUF is a manufacturer.. those cars are RUF's, not Porsches, regardless of how they look. Koenig's are Ferarris, so without the Ferarri license.. no go.

As for the Diablo.. I heard that PD got into a bit of trouble over that, since they didn't have the Lamborghini license, and used a loophole in the JGTC license to put the car in. But it was removed from all subsequent versions of the game, except for the initial North American release, where it was simply hidden due to time constraints (they didn't have enough time to remove it completely, hence you can "cheat" it into your garage).
 
Lamborghini might be in, but Porsche and Ferrari are out.
 
Yeah , maybe Lamborghini could bea hidden one like in GT3.

GT-One Fan, Maserati is part of FIAT. And so is Ferrari.
 
Going to put a plain and simple.


RUF is an INDEPENDENT CAR COMPANY.
They do tune Porsches, but only when a CUSTOMER, not the COMPANY Porsche< asks them to.

...i know fiat is owning them and alfa , too but i just wanted to bring it up with "Ferrari"!!!

Fiat may own Ferrari, but that doesn't mean they can give PD the license. That's up to whether who Enzo left the company to can or not.
 
Luca Di Montezemolo now runs Fiat....i wonder if he likes the GT series....as for the head of Ferrari, Jean Todt is now director of both the road and racing divisions. why don't you ask one of them why Ferrari isn't in the game...
 
I know yamauchisan and trust him.if there must be a car in the game its in the game.if it is not ,there must be a problem or something otherwise why dont they put the world hottest exotics.No need to worry about ingame cars there will be enough to satisfy us i think. 💡

Yes but it would be nice to have them in Gran Turismo, would it not?
 
I agree it would be nice to have Ferrari, Lambo, Porshe, Maserati, etc. But I'll be happy with GT4 regardless. I've always been a fan of the exotic cars. I think the one car that I would be happy with if only one car from the four manufacturers above got into the game would be the Ferrari Enzo, what a machine!
 
lamborghini is probably in

VAG said that they would try to have their whole line up in GT4. that would include Bugatti, Bentley, and Lamborghini

I just have a couple of things here. Ruf does not build cars that just happen to look like Porsches. Ruf's own website claims "The Ruf RTurbo is built on the basis of the Porsche 996 model Turbo". They further acknowledge that Rufs are "enhanced Porsche models". I am pretty sure that Ruf has a contract with Porsche (or, more accurately, Volkswagen Auto Group {VAG}) for x number of 'bodies in white'. This means they basically get a 996 911 body unpainted with nothing installed. They then install only what they want the car to have. This means they probably leave out all kinds of sound deadening matriel and other useless crap like a/c and audio systems. Then they take a highly modified 911 engine and drivetrain and there you go, a shiny new Ruf. They are a manufacturer though because so much of the car is made in house, and they have a favorable relationship with Porsche, so VAG dosn't challange their manufacturer status. Also, the company is named after Alios Ruf, it isn't R.U.F., so stop writing RUF, it makes you look foolish. Thats like writing FORD or CHEVROLET or HONDA. editted: I apologize, it appears that RUF uses RUF as their name, despite the fact that they are indeed named after the founder Alios Ruf. So, go figure.
 
VAG has little to do with porche these days (Ok they share platforms on the cayenne/toureg). That makes you look foolish.

RUF is a separate entity. Porsche just supplies them with certain parts. Take for example Sauber Petronas and Ferrari. Two profesional F1 teams. Ferrari uses all of the new gadgets and technically supply Sauber Petronas with the last seasons gadgets. Like engines. In this case Porsche is the Supperior company. RUF is the company that takes possesion of the "already used" parts.

Holden, Vauxhaul and Chevrolet are one company. Porsche and RUF are not.

Hamman specialises in performance for Ferrari's and various other supercar companies. RUF does not.

You had better hope that Famine doesn't see this thread. Otherwise God help you all, who think that RUF is Porsche :rolleyes:
 
I remember reading in some magazine that something around 90% of the RUF's are actually made by RUF. So it's in all respects nearly a different car.
 
Porsche supplies RUF with their older technology, that they don't use anymore. What I say to that is. Thank you jeebus!!! If I had to choose. I actually probably go with the RGT rather than a GT3.
 
Why is it that Forza gets all the exotics, and on top of it all the xbox gamers get to crash them and destroy them to bits. Is it truly a liscencing problem? It might be because PD asks too much technical information from the manufacturers and companies like Ferrari and :bowdown: Porsche :bowdown: don't want do give out this information. But how did forza get this info? considering the game is a "simulation"? I dunno, its hard to tell only by speculations!
 
Drift4eva, do you have any proof porshe gives them their old tech? I think I posted earlier that Ruf was making 6 speeds when porshe was making 5s. I don't think the companies really share that much other than the general look. Ruf developes it's own engines and suspendion, the chasis are taken out of current porche's and Ruf produces their own bodies.
 
HIs last name may be Ruf, but the company is all capitals.
So it is RUF. So you are foolish.
 
RUF, like Alpina, Carlsson, Gemballa and most other german tuners, modify the cars to such an extent that the German government classifies them as manufacturers rather than tuners. They do not get "older technologies", they are totally different companies. They will outsource components from various other companies, or make them in house. Sometimes they'll receive cars from a certain manufacturer (in RUF's case, I think Porsche sent in a number of 911s to be modified into RGT-RS', which were the limited edition, GT3-RS-ish model RUF came out recently), but they don't work with each others.

Now, drop the Porsche/Ferrari issue. It's been discussed about a thousand times already, we're sick and tired of it. Take a look at The359's carlist, find something you like in there, dream about racing it around the Nurburgring, and stop whining about overpriced pimpmobiles and Porsches.

Time for a clean up in here, I reckon.
