Why is this blank?!

All three of these threads are! AHH!

EDIT Please note that this thread commenced with a blank post, hence the rather odd appearance of the posts. This thread is a merge between a thread with a blank first post that was replied to, and a second thread where the the first post appeared.

I may as well pretend I made this thread.

Anyway, would it be a good idea for car parts to wear out? I am inclined to say yes.

Discuss.

It might be hard to put damage into GT4 but what about having car parts wear out over time like in Sega GT. I think its a good idea along as there are many parts which need to be replaced. Like in Sega GT after a while you would need new suspension or the engine needed a rebuild, which is good but not complex enough. If they had it in GT4 it would have to be more specific so somehting like a waterpump goes and the engine overheats or the spark plugs are getting old and the engine starts to misfire while in game.

(Off topic)
How do I change Woflie to its correct spelling which is Wolfie?

Also sorry for those other three useless thread, I was at school and the net stuffed up and I kept clicking refresh cause it wasn't sending.

i like these ideas, about parts wearing out

i would like GT4 to have a service options, which would include oil, spark plugs, coil's, spark plug leads etc
and have a chioce of which to buy

I wish the tuning was more indepth, like do you want high comp piston's low comp piston's high lift/duration cam's or not, bore/stroke size options. etc etc etc.

YES thats exactly what i want

but emagine lots of people getting confused

I can picture a kid buying a Viper, putting high compression pistons in there, agressive lobed cams, and a supercharger at 2 Bars

Parts that wear is good aslong as you can replace em :)

For instance a 900BHP 'Stock' Skyline should blow up after a few races ;)

yes thats what i mean also, only if you can replace them:)

I've had this idea for a while, just never got round to making a thread about it.

It would be the perfect way of introducing damage with out getting the manufacturers all *****y.
It would be neat if you had a turbo running at 2bar+ last roughly 5000km before an upgrade or a completly new turbo installed.

having all stock parts except the engine(like my friend does!) should make other parts wear real quick. Like suspension and brakes. Maybe even get huge upgrades like Brembo's new Carbon discs(as featured on the Enzo;) ) Or more specific engine upgrades like Driftster said

Only if the game warns you when the parts are on their way out. I would hate to be on lap 99 out of 100 and have the car die on me. That would suck

There should be that your tires wear out and u cant drive or if u dont change your oil your engine gets messed up and needs rebuilding

The powerful RB26DETT should hold more then that.

Though I think you should be able to have parts wear out during the race and get warnings like a light on the speedo or smoke comming out the back. If you had a spare part (i also think you should be able to stock up on spares for cars) for the bit dying then you could go into the pits and your pit crew could replace it. If you haven't then carry on racing and hope for the best.

BTW I think you should be able to change parts like...change what kind of engine you have in the car for example. Say you have a V6 with a bit of money and cash I think you should be able to put in a V8. In the 60's some bloke managed to replace mini cooper engines in mini coopers (funnily enough) with V8's. They flew.

Though saying that I'd imagine hitting a big bumb or going over a crest would be a pretty enlightening expericance.;)

Having parts wearout in the game would make the endurence racing much harder. You would have to run your car with less power and watch out for wear of the brakes. They should have fuel comsuption in the game too, cause a car handles differently on a full load then what it does on a light fuel load. Having all this might put some people off from playing the game. So have a easy mode for GT4 where its like GT3 with no wear on parts and a Hard mode with fuel and parts wear.:)

maybe some sort of adjustment bar like the autogear adjust in the setting that would let you lower or increase the horsepower for any race. For example, when you have a 600 horse power car and need to enter a 591hp race, you could adjust it to lower the 9horse power
