Pet peeves are those little nuisances in life that slow you down and get under your skin to just piss you off a little. The opposite of those are what this thread is about. The little things that happen every now and then that make you smile a little or maybe make your day that little bit happier.

Do you have any?

Here are a couple:

Finding a padlock that's still not been locked even though the key is lost.

Getting a new pair of shoes no one else has and people asking were you got them from.

Finding your headphones and you dont have to untagle them.

Waking up with no hangover.

Sucking up a fly while vacuuming.

When it's a really hot night and you turn the pillow around to the cold side.

Turning into a tight turn and having to look past the c-pillar into the driver's side window to see the apex.

Have you got any?

Seeing a customer have a go at my boss because the brand new Premier seating is too high for them to see over. It's one of those "I told you so" moments. :)

And just about every minute with Loli, especially when we just relax together.
:)

Proving a know- it- all- wrong. Especially one who is complaining about you or the service you are supplying and telling you that you are wrong. And the moment they realise that they are wrong and have gone silent following it......

Waking up and realising it's Saturday.

Not having to turn the alarm clock on and being able to sleep through the day.

Playing a new game you've been waiting months for.

Riding your motorcycle in the cool air of a mild summer evening as the sun goes down.

Going into work on one of your days off and being able to refuse people when they ask you for help on some mundane task, thinking you're working.

Turning into a tight turn and having to look past the c-pillar into the driver's side window to see the apex.

...I take it you don't mean the definition of "loli" that you can find at Urban Dictionary...

Going to sleep to the sound of rain and a distant thunderstorm.

That soft blue glow that covers everything when the moon is full. Looks even better when there are patchworks of clouds about.

Finding a CD you thought you'd lost

Getting a car to the point where both the front and rear axles are just hovering over the edge of grip and your choice and mix of understeer or oversteer is just a twitch of your right foot away

Listening to a favourite song or passage of a song with the lights out and no other noise about, so you get totally immersed(sp?) in the music

and my number one feelgood thing: The steering feedback in an early Alfetta GTV. No matter how bad my day was, the Alfa made it bearable... if it was running of course :D

Turning on your MP3 player and finding it still has almost full battery.

And to exigeracer; I hear you on blow off valves 👍

My last job was in customer service, and I must say, there isn't anything more fun than catching a customer in a lie, or giving them that "you got told" feeling. I know the silence you speak of, and it is sooooo satisfying :D.

Molding round lead bullets for my muzzleloaders and setting up powder charges for them.

Waking up at Sunday at 5:00am just minutes before the sun rises; you know when the sky turns extremely light-blue - and sleeping another 3 or 4 hours before getting up. :)

Knowing that you have no important things or workings to do for the next few days.

Watching the bright stars you havent seen for a whole month cause work and other important things.

Sitting down for a few minutes just to listen to the ticking clock knowing that time doesnt passes you THAT fast like other people think.

-Three Day Weekends
-Days with no Homework/Essays/Tests/Quizzes
-A Nice hot shower after a long day

Getting off the train

Getting out of the last class of the day

Finding a rusty padlock locked to a fence

ImprezaAddict
The satisfaction of eternally poking your English teacher knowing she won't dismember you.
You know you can get your teacher in a lot of trouble for pok.. wait, nevermind. :D

Getting to go back to sleep after the alarm has gone off.

Finding notes amongst the smash of change after a night out.
Yes to all!

  • Playing through a good pass in football.
  • Generally just having a good game.
  • Having a full tank of petrol.
  • Pay day.
  • Bruce Willis movies.
  • A Slash solo. :sly:
The list goes on really.

I actually find that I feel really good when I go into work on a day off and help someone out.

Getting paid at work

Not having any bills to pay ('cause you've already paid them)

Driving alone, in the dark, hearing that one song you haven't heard in years

Being "right" when everyone thought you were "wrong"

Seeing Transformers for the first time

Having people ask you about The Totally Rad Show and Digg Nation when you're wearing the shirts

Getting the perfect shot (while playing golf)

...among many others...

EDIT:

The rumble of American V8 power during a cruise-in

Not having any bills to pay ('cause you've already paid them)
I have bills staggered all throughout the month, so I don't get to have this satisfaction :grumpy:

Nicety: Grocery shopping, and thinking about all the delicious stuff you will make .

Yeah, it's gotta be a really tight turn!

No, I was just talking about c-pillars in another thread, I meant to say A-pillars.

Like YSS said, when you tee up a ball and hit the sweet spot's sweet spot, makes the perfect ping and goes straight 250 yards to fairway.

👍

Pulling into a tight parking spot perfectly the first time, without re-adjusting.

Having a song on your CD end at the exact moment that you’ve pulled into said parking spot.

Pasting into a Word document without having to reformat or use Paste Special.

Discovering some extra food in the conference room at work.

Putting on socks without having to adjust the seam above the toes.

Going to an empty gas station.

Noticing that you’re going exactly the speed limit right as you see a highway patrol vehicle.

Oh, so many I could list. But so few that I will.

Long weekends

Your favorite CD to last through the commute

Finishing a project or task at work just before the end of the day

No traffic on your favorite road

Starting out early in the morning on a road trip

Weaving your way quickly through heavy traffic as everyone else struggles to comprehend the situation.

Waking up on a Saturday morning thinking you have to go to work, then realising it's Saturday. It makes me :D

Finishing a complex job about 5mins from the end of the day. Task complete, and just enough time to email, tidy the desk and walk out the door.

Seeing some people perform an act or activity and wanting to join in, but not because you know you shouldn't. Then seeing the bad repercussions for them, and knowing that could have been you if you'd have given in and joined in what seemed like "fun".
