Lighting/Shadow "Bug" in Night Conditions?

I'm surprised by not having seen this mentioned (sorry if there is already a discussion I missed on this somewhere). At nighttime, it's horribly distracting to race close to others.

It seems like the shadow that is cast by the car in front, from the headlights of the player's car, "overwrites" the headlights of that car. As you can see on the image below, there is a black void created, obscuring view of the track ahead which should be lit up by the headlights of the car in front.

This has been like this since day 1, and I'm honestly surprised by not seeing this as a common talking point.

I love endurance racing, and really like to simulate 24hr races by using time acceleration, but this really ruins the immersion when actively racing others in the night. It's a shame because the night time is truly beautifully done in this game otherwise.

This is not a issue on tracks with plentyful track lighting, like Daytona and Yas Marina.

Anyone else bothered by this?
