Alcohol has been proving to make you less effective. I am no different when I'm smoking then when I am not. However, when I drink I'm much different, and you still know whats going on when you're drunk? That's really hard to believe, after one or two beers maybe, but after a long night of drinking you are less effective, its proven.
Less effective? Most certainly. However, that doesn't affect my ability to remain the same person or make rational thoughts. For some people it does.

Most smoker will not smoke in someone's house or car that doesn't smoke. I mean thats rude. Hell I don't even smoke in my own house or my own car.
People have smoked in my car and in my house without asking. They're definately not in the majority; as you say, most people who smoke are much more sensible than that.

Restaurant, hotels, and especially bars allow smoking in them in many states. Build a bridge and get over it, if you don't want to be around it I suggest you push for legislation to ban it, or find places that don't allow smoking.
Funny you should mention that. As it so happens, there will be a vote tomorrow on an initiative which would ban smoking in bars, restaurants, etc in the state of Washington. Polls indicate that 70-80% will vote for it. Apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Bee. To like the third post.

Being 14 and just entering High School no effing dumbass drug addicted kid or adult is going to persuade me to take a drag of even a 99.9% safer cigarette. A cigarette is a cigarette, IMO. And if that's what they think of me that i'm not "cool enough" because I don't smoke then it's time for me to make new friends.

Good man. 👍

Smoking cigarettes arent cool look at all the low lifes and cracheads that smoke cigarettes. Smoking fat cubans is cool but only if your in some expensive suit and have a chauffeur.

Stupid media making it look like its cool to smoke cuban cigars.

They are like 5 times worse than the average cigar.

This is totally stupid!!

Think of the little kids that are unsure about smoking, they will now think that they wont die if they smoke!! Friends would also be able to use that for peer pressure, "Oh look it wont kill you it says on the pack go on be cool take a drag..." kinda thing.

Fair enough for people that already smoke but I think this is geiving a false view on the harmful effects of smoking for the younger population..

and regarding smoking bans being potentially lifted.

Well, depends on if smoke is still produced, its not the fact it kills the smoker, its the factother people dont want to inhale smoke. Wether ins untoxicated or not.

And i bet its expensive.
These are two of the best posts in the tread, I agree with them both 100%.

1st point, it's the same with me, when I get drunk I lose the coordination I have, but I can still think about what I want to say or should say ect. I don't get blank spots in my memories of the night either. I don't tend to get bladdered very often, most nights out I stick to 4 or 5 pints max.

Second point, whenever I drink I'm not making the people around me drink as well, when my mates light up I inhale the smoke from their cigarettes. I'm not fussy about this, if were out in somewhere and they want to light up I don't tell them not to or anything like that. I won't let them smoke in my car or my house though.
