Liking the Changes!

I went online on Sunday night and was delighted by the addition of the Ferrari 430/GT-R race because I really enjoy the one make/two make races - everybody plays on a very level playing field. But I noticed that the PS3 server was "Analyzing Network Performance" just before Matching Players. Then when the race started I noticed that most of the drivers had JP, HK, FR, IT, and AU labels for the next several races. Oh, and guess what, I had several races where I didn't get punted at all - wow, what a change. I topped out my credits so I went offline to get rid of some of the credits - bought more cars.

When I went back online, I got only local races for a short time and I got punted in every race, then just waited for them to crash out to move back to the front. Somehow, I got back into the international rotation and was again delighted - made several JP and TW friends. This is a whole new level of racing.

Oh, and by the way, my garage is full at 150 cars - there is a limit. So I guess I will just have to collect only the elites and those worth more money.

I've yet to get online in the the new one/two make races, since I've been on holiday.
But it doesn't sound all that tempting, due to experience and things I've read about it.
But that's just because of the punters. I too like the fact that it's more even.
But it needn't be. You see I've done the math, and if you lower the F430s weight all the way down, and lower BHP to correct for the weight loss, you actually end up with less weight for each BHP to drag around. Not much though, about 0.4 kilograms, but that something at least. It also feels much more balanced with less weight. It seems that the weightloss alone does away with the corner-entry-understeer, the car has with my driving style, on standard suspension setup.
Think I'll try the same with the GTR tonight, to see if it also gets better.

The GTR/430 race is the best yet but there are only a few different races in this update.

Totally agree with you. Unfortunately it seems more often than not, the local players are the ones to initiate road rage. heh heh, more like Mario Kart racing really than anything else.

On one of my races though I was totally surprised when I was slip streaming this one guy from JP. On the final stretch I was bracing myself for him to slam the brakes or punt but he just maintained his racing line and let me pass for the win.

Regarding your car collection. I think all the cars have a fixed resale value of 25%. What I started doing was just keeping the cars I like or need for the races and started collecting F2007s. This way when the full game comes out you can sell them for 500k a piece.
