People have been switching to Linux a lot more recently, and I noticed there wasn't a thread for this kind of thing (Surprisingly!)
I recently installed Linux Mint on an old laptop that used to run Windows 10, and the difference is night and day, even on the ole' hard drive it's got.
While I was at uni, I dual-booted Manjaro KDE and Windows on my laptop. I ended up using WSL instead though, mostly because:
1. The CPU governor seemed like it was stuck on economy (IIRC there was always some lag before it ramped up)
And 2. The ThinkPad TrackPoint never felt as "good" as in Windows
I've been thinking of dual-booting my laptop again (maybe with Fedora KDE), but the TrackPoint support is holding me back.
I do have a Proxmox server, though. It's currently just used for Home Assistant, but I'm planning on setting up game servers and other things.
My NAS is also running TrueNAS Scale, so I'm technically running two Linux desktops.
