Lister Storm V12 Race Car buy?

Hello GTPlanet Members/Moderators,

Now, I searched this car up but I didn't find any good threads so I'm making a new one for advice. Now, the car popped up just now in the UCD for about 2 million & have about 6 million right now. I got a grinding course going on, so If I buy this car it's gonna cut me down to 4 million. Sure, It's a low decrease to the people who are used to high-priced cars that interests you but it pops up abruptly to the point that takes difficult decisions into account, but this is a car I'm not sure of. It's the very first time I saw the car in the UCD after about 1000 game days, so I'm pretty sure It's rare. The stats is decent too: has 593HP on it & has 3,171 km on mileage.

Now, since the game itself is on hold for an answer, I'll be pleased if I receive low-period-of-time responses.

I've got this vehicle in Race Pro (probably the closest console title you can get to a PC simulator) and this vehicle is nasty in that title. I could be wrong.., but I may also have this vehicle on my PSP version of GT as well. I may have even carried it over to my Portable Garage.

All I can tell you is (if) Polyphony did their homework on this model.., you'll be quite satisfied with it. In real life it's a great race car.., and it's not one of the "just pick it up and buy anytime you want" vehicles in GT either.
 
I think there was a question in there somewhere haha. I personaly wouldn't go for it, it's too expensive and most of all its just not a good race car (compared to many others in the game).

"Too expensive" can be said for ALL of the "Standard" Race Cars IMO. I still say it's a great car....

Yeah. Almost every standard race car matches near the range of 1 to 2 million.

I think the main thing you have to think about is; would you drive/race it enough to justify paying that much. Hope that makes up your mind.
 
According to my experience, I saw a group of better worth buying race cars straight after this screen of UCD, and the Lister popped up soon again.

I still bought it though... lol

I'm buying it because I didn't see very much people using them, so I thought It'll be rare.
 
I recommend you to buy it. It is not the best race car but it is unique looking, still a pretty good car and if anything it is worth something in the GT Marketplace.
 
Just got this car today from a 1000 ticket havent tried it yet. Might trade to someone im more of a super GT/JGTC man.

It's power to weight is worse than the typical LM race cars.
It is also on the heavy side for a race car.

By the way, those power figures I listed is after an engine rebuild.
 
Thanks for the help, guys. I decided not to buy the car. Not because that It is ugly or slow or anything. I just need to grind to the high Credits to get ready if the Chaparral 2J pops up or some other car that is hugely priced pops up.

Pop down to the marketplace for the 2j.:sly:
 
It's actually from FIA GT serries so that's why it's heavier than le mans prototypes. In GTR2 it had a reputation for being a nice entry level GT1 class car that was kind to it's tires. In GT5, where tire choice is more about choosing the preferred difficulty level than adapting to course conditions, that is meaningless though...
