Couldn't think where this topic belonged..... I was sure if I put it in GT1/2/3/4 it would be moved, so put it here, but not many people visit here!

Anyway, am I the only GT Addict who is so addicted that I've been sorely tempted to give up work on many occasions just to play the game!

Crazy I know, but life is short and all that!

Certainly done a few sickies in my time just to play it though! :guilty:
 
I'm sure you're not the only one but what a naughty boy you are!

Yeah life is short...make the most of the chances you have,take risks and play hard ;)
 
My god MAN! that is work! ¢£$! ...but, ive found myself skipping some grade-weighted class assignments around the release season of GT3. and im sure WE arent the only ones lol.
 
I take my PS2 and GT3 to work.

None of the kids has come close yet.

Aaaahh,just messin with ya.I've skipped a few classes in school to be able to play GT2 and 3 when they came out.I just had to.
So i got used to it and started coming up with ideas on how to skip school.Did it a few more times and then i became 18 and life got serious(I hate when that happens).Now i'm stuck working from 09:00-17:00 and have little time to play games.It takes me an hour to go thru this forum alone.2 hours of playtime after that and it's back to bed.
But anyway,i'm sure a lot of people have done this sort of thing.It's natural really or so i like to belive.
 
C'mon, I know a guy from GTBN that has a set-up (w/ momo) at his office, and a Set-up at home with a Bob Earl seat and a MOMO.

I know a guy (here on GTP) that would race out of the office at noon, fly the 15 minutes home, race for 1/2/ hour, then fly back to the office for 1.

I know others on here, that were unemployed, and instead of searching for a job, they wracked up kilometers on GTP. Still others in the same situation that wracked up miles.

Addicted? Nope, just another enthusiats.

I vividly remember sitting in front of the TV all day saving up for a Mitsubishi GTO LM Edition by driving the Sunday Cup over and over in my awesome Race Modificated souped up mother of a Mitsubishi FTO, ahead of everyone by -11 seconds, doing 30something second lap times at Autumn Ring Mini, when I should be at school.

It was blue and white, and I even drew one with Paint Shop Pro 5.5 for Grand Theft Auto 1 on Pentium 1.

Gran Turismo -, Pentium - and Grand Theft Auto 1 are the coolest.
 
I just about remember the first day with Gran Turismo 3. I played it on and on till about 1am in the morning, I went through ac countless amount of chocalate milk glasses.
 
Sometimes at work I get into that GT mindset, which isn't the best thing when you're dealing with new cars.
Like, uhh...yesterday. I jumpstarted a MPV and I was just going to drive it to the lower lot, park it, and let someone else jump it again when needed. But I didn't really have anything going on so I figured I'd just drive around in the lot for a while. If someone asked me what I was doing I'd just say that it had a dead battery and I'm charging it by driving it. So I'm just cruising around the lower lot, where no one is. Hit the gas a little, then I switching into GT mode and actually did some light autocrossing while kinda singing "Spoon Man". :) The kid I work with was talking to his boss at the time and they heard me do a corner-flooring it manuver that resulted it way more wheelspin than I anticipated, he said that the boss looked to the lower lot and shook his head. All I gotta say is that MPVs are quick and handle very well. They're a heck of a lot of fun really.
 
I remember the release of GT1.
I skipped school, because I heard that one particular gameshop will get it two days earlier than any other one in whole Munich or maybe whole Germany. Turned out I wasn't the only one to get to know about it, so slowly as I was waiting with the shop owner, who was a really really cool woman, more and more people came into the gameshop to wait for the UPS guy. At the end it was like 30 or 40 people in one small room which was like a tad larger than my bedroom and all skipped school or their jobs just to get GT1 a bit earlier than everyone else. :lol:
Oh yeah, I was the second (after the shop owner herself) to get it then! :D

I've been taking my PS2 and GT3 to school for years...
 
I remember when i first got my PS2, i had no memory card, so my PS2 went a week without shutdown, and yeah, i have skipped school a couple of times to play GT3.
 
I typed up my Excel worksheet of GT2 information on the clock at one previous job (when you work with Excel all day long, nobody notices whether it's an expense report or a bunch of car listings), and created/refined the Pupik's GT2 Spot at my last job. That might explain the dedication.

I wasn't feeling very good one Thursday in late of 2000, and went to bed early that night. I didn't feel all that good, but come Friday morning, I felt better. I decided to call in sick anyways, and solely concentrated on winning the Millennium in Rome 2 Hour enduro in my Unisia Jecs Skyline. Never before has prize car felt so good.

Kids, "paid" Sick Days are nice if you don't abuse them too badly.
 
I've been late for school because of Gran Turismo. Does that count? :lol:

But I have faked illness once or twice to get out of school, but that was before I got a PS2, so I spent those days overdosing on CS. I won't do that now though, I've grown up, and I have a sense of responsibility... :(
 
I've done fake appointments, but usually to go out to breakfast with some friends. I think GT3 only made me late once, but it was on the first day of school, so no one cares.
