What does "LM" stand for? What makes these cars different from the others?

Just curious, since I'm close to winning one... ;)

(Another Q: Which is the best LM car, IYourHO?)

[Edit]: Eh, tried to delete this after reading the post "Dream Car Championship"... it won't let me delete though...

LM - Speculations say LeMans and LiMited Edition. Others say Loony Machine.

My favorite is the RX-7, just because I like rotary engines. It's not necassarily the best, infact, they're really close to being equal.

This is of course throwing out the Nissan R390 LM because technically it's the Calsonic R390 which really exists.

Your avatar tells it all... You are too much into Chrysler. Ya know, Limited Edition Cherokee, Limited Edition M300, Limited Edition this and that...

Seems and sounds like the production line is TOO LIMITED for mass production :D

LM HAS TO stand for LeMans... Since limited edition cars are not necessarily ALL some 500+ HP monsters... You can get a humble 150 HP family sedan under the name Limited Edition. Ya know, those same crappy cars with heaps of fancy junk installed like coke can holders, pockets for yer sunglaesses on the glareshields, illuminated make up mirrors on the passenger side glareshield, fake wooden dash and all...

Does that sound like a sporty car ? For all I know, ya spend from 1,500 to 15,000 Cr for lightweighting yer car don't ya ?? :D

I still couldn't manage to win any other RX7 LM than that crappy fluorescent red one !!

Each and every time I try, I get the very same é#$%&* colored car !!!

Technically it may be a Calsonic R390 (sponsors i think) but it definitely has earnt it's LM tag because it is a Le Mans car. :)
It's definitely the best LM car in the game IMHO :p

Well I dont know what it stads for but I sure as hell like the S2000 LM race car, it would have to be between that and the RX7 as which is the best. But like everyone says they are all pretty equal.

My favourite:

The Mitsubishi FTO LM Race Car. It has helped me to glory in lots of the races. Nice to set up. Nice to race. 4 wheel drive...what more could you ask for?

I im pretty sure the following cars are fake
FTO LM (Definite)
RX7 LM (Definite)
Impreza LM (Definite)
That powerfull ZZ thingy (just a concept)
Camaro Race Car (Looks a bit too generic to be a real american race car could be wrong though)

Thats the Idea of the Dream Car cup. Cars that you can only dream about because they dont exist in real life.

That explains why I can't find any pictures of the real thing then!!! :banghead:

Oh yeah the Altezza LM Racer is fake as well
I read this In a magazine that PD were trying to improve on certain cars, The first one was the FTO LM and the CRX LM in GT, in the second one, Altezza LM, Concept car LM, FTO LM and CRX LM. There is a GTO LM in Gt and GT2 but im not sure if that is a fake.

altezza2.jpg

This is the nearest you'll get to the Altezza LM this HKS Altezza

Engine
Type: Inline-4
Displacement: 2000 cc
Horsepower: 564 bhp @ 8000 rpm
Torque: 446 lb-ft @ 6000 rpm
Redline: ---- rpm

fairly close though :D

Damn that car looks coooooooooooooooooooool
The only racing Altezza ive seen isnt an altezza its a lexus, in BTTC but the HKS looks way cooler. Maybe PD couldnt get the rights to that car so they rebadged it as an LM

Mmm - two door, and do you like the rear aero undertray (just behind the rear wheel).
