LMP TOURNAMENT

Hi guys. First my apologies for my English. Now to the topic.
Im hosting a LMP1 tournament using this cars:
1) Audi R18 Team Joest
2) Toyota TS020 GT-one
3) Toyota TS030 hybrid
4) Bentley Speed 8
5) Peugeot 908 HDI FAP TEAM ORECA
6) Nissan LMP1
7) Mazda LM55 VGT

The point is that the rules are 625 PP (to avoid Peugeot's torque goes to the stars with turbos) 500 HP (Just because we dont want to make cars to hard to drive) and 1030 Kgs. The Hybrid Toyota is limited to 485 HP. And the Mazda is limited at 615 PP. Fsr and Abs are avaible as well.

So the question is... Did you think this is well balanced? Are those regulations fair to the diferent team drivers? Thanks for your help!

I don't have much experience with those cars so I can't answer your question, but perhaps this should be posted in the online racing section?
 
I dont think so. It's a question about car performances. I dont care where you make your test (offline/ online). And you dont need to much experience to try to help. Just test those cars at your own pace and then tell me if you noticed a big diference with something. Thanks!

I drive these cars a lot and you're gonna have to change around the performance from car to car. The Toyota at 485 HP is demolishing the Audi R18 and TS020 straight out the gate. and the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo is eating up that Peugeot and Speed 8 with its power distributed not to mention its high downforce. The Mazda LM55 is hard to balance out since none of its specs appear. So the LM55 VGT is going to be tricky.

But I'd say run some time trials with them. If the times are more than 2 seconds off of the lead time, the balance is off and you probably have to re-evaluate.

I suggest this because I'm running a 1:46.7 at Silverstone with my R18 and a 1:47.3 with my Peugeot 908 HDi. and my Audi is 620 HP while my Peugeot is 585 HP.
 
Wow, thats to much... in fact I needed to pull up the TS030 HPs because with its initial configuration (wich was 475hp) drivers demands that catch the peugeot were imposible. I would love to have lap times and set ups with the GT-one (RS tyres) at Spa, wich is the next race. thanks a lot for the reply!
 
Another thing worth bearing in mind is that the LM55 is 4WD and if you choose to have weather variation set to on, this will result in the LM55 absolutely dominating in the wet. I know, as in a series which I took part in recently, I went from being around one second quicker than anybody else in the dry to being about 12 seconds quicker than anybody else in the wet, and whilst I am a safe pair of hands, I am far from alien level! Unsurprisingly the car was omitted from the car listing for the next season.

Bearing that in mind, should you choose to have weather variation on, I would scrap the LM55.

I do agree with the post above which says to do some time trials though. When it comes to balancing a car, I neutralise the set up for each car (medium downforce, no toe or camber, equal ride height, brake balance and gear ratios) and I take them to the Nurburgring GP circuit, which in my view is the most balanced circuit on the game of a reasonable length.

500 HP and 1050 kg ends up as ~ 590 PP which is too low for LMP cars. Just stick with 625 PP. At Spa real life pole times are in the 1:58 range. 625 PP with RH tires should be about 2:20 laps. If one of these cars is much quicker than handicap with a lower PP.

No wet races for that reasson! And now with the introduction of the hyundai car, maybe our grid will be full...
