My gt5 has been great everything was fine, until today. It just locks up about 45 seconds into it start, making it unplayable. What the hell. Blackops works fine.
I fixed it!!! Yeahhoo! It seemed to be a music issue. I deleted my music folder I was using for ingame music, and presto!

Blame online servers. GT5 heavily relies on constant comunication to its online servers, when they get loaded, intinite loading times become the bread and wine.

Restart the PS3 then. Deactivate the Internet connection from the PS3 if you don't have planned going online, and play as normal.

Server load become worst during "trading" hours, it's imposible for me to get in the game at those times.

Think there are a lot more people starting to venture online again after getting to higher levels of A-spec, the people that got it for christmas.

Nope, still locked up. I've tried deleting the game data, which inturn became corrupted. I'm now reinstalling 1.05.

I think with blackops being a total turd its spreading to your other games. Thats why I stopped playing it when I started getting other games. ;) BTW Off topic. does anyone know if they totally fixed Blackops for the PS3 yet?

It works, that's my best opinion.

They'll never fix it, but I still prefer it to MW2 and it's the only game I play other than GT5... I've recently decided that with a good (ish) online shooter and GT5, I won't need any more games for a while.

OP, maybe your hard drive is on the way out? If it's a 60gb and you've never changed the hard drive it would be safe to assume it's getting old, and therefore possibly on it's way out. Black Ops reads off the Blu Ray and not off the hard drive (the install is only 20mb or so), whereas GT5 relies on the hard drive, which may explain it. Your file getting corrupted is another sign that it's your hard drive dying, I'd recommend replacing it, it's not too expensive to get a 320gb hard drive now, and a 60gb for a straight swap is probably very cheap now.

I deleted my music folder I had for ingame music, then started it up. Worked fine.
