Hey I was looking at these 2 cars' settings, and I managed to find... not a damn difference. Yet I was looking at past threads, and I found that people think the Calsonic is miles ahead of the Loctite in everything but looks. Can someone please explain which car is better and why?

If you have them both, set them up exactly the same. Then drive them both around the same track. You will likely be faster in the Calsonic.

Gil is right, for some reason the Calsonic is the faster car. With identical settings, and layout, the Zexel just doesn't measure up to the Calsonic.

If I recall correctly you'll find a similar quandry with the JGTC NSX's.

They're two different teams so it's probable that one car might use a few different parts to the other, maybe.

Pick a track and see... I'll take the Loctite... :D

Im guessing they are indeed crazy...

The cars would be equal if it wasn't for that Calsonic Blue.

For real though... maybe because the head dude on this game... (whatever his name is)...

He is a huge fan of cars in real life, so I wouldn't at all be suprised if he was extremely interested in his homeland's gt racing. (JGTC)

Thats why there have been so many other jgtc cars in all of the other games... the puma vr-4, the taisan viper, etc...

With him being such a big fan, he may have played a role in the overall base values of each cars abilities. Just like the F094/s vs F094/h, there are certain elements in each cars build that are somehow skewed towards one team or year or driver, making one faster.
Make sense

That's actually quite interesting - a fairly even spread (with the slightly portly Pennzoil clearly lagging). The third-placed Calsonic is driven by daan - only 0.5s behind the first-placed one driven by Lightning. But all those times were set more than a year ago... I'll take the Loctite out for a whirl later and see what I can net...

This is another reason I'd like to be able to chose the AI cars in GT4. Then I could put all beefed up Skylines into one race and see how they fair.

Or more importantly, a bunch of S2000s (:

I personally like the Loctite Zexel better, and I get about the same lap times with each, and I favor the paintjob of the Zexel. I've never clocked the two exactly and compared them "head-to-head", though.

But we would need much smarter AI to drive the cars, not the "running off the road and into you cheating" AI we have now. ;) Anyways, I like all the JGTC Skylines the same. ;)

The Calsonic, but im kinda swayed because i own a blue R34

heh if only it were true, but in all seriousness id take the calsonic because it basically helped me beat alot of races up until i got the 787B

akina_86: Really? So the two real life cars placed in exactly the same places, with exactly the same lap times in the 2000 JGTC then.

Besides which the third Skyline JGTC - the Pennzoil - is considerably heavier than these two.

Your signature, at TEN lines long, is four lines over the GTP permitted maximum, which is 6 lines including blank lines. Can you please shorten it?

I like the Calsonic better because it looks much cooler, in my humble opinion. Whenever possible in GT3, I always choose the car I thinks got the best looks or sound, just part of the fun.
