Logitech DFP/DFGT wheel change question

Have any of you guys done this before with Derek Speare's adapter? I've seen people change the wheel rim of the G25 and G27 but haven't seen yet on a DFGT or DFP.

I might get a DFP if this procedure is easy enough to do. Which I highly doubt with all the buttons on the wheel but I'll hear what you guys think first.
 
I did it by making my own adapter; But I spent more time to extract carefully the buttons panel...
