Logitech Driving Force bug fixed?

To anyone who did bought the GT3 Logitech Driving Force wheel recently.....

Are you still encountering the problem>? What did Logitech say (if you did bring the issue to them)?

Get the red PC one instead, it costs about half the price, and is much more stable.

I'd say the opposite - my Blue one (offical) has never missed a beat yet...

I wanted the offical one ... Only cost be £70. I wanted to see the GT Logo on the wheel, and for the sake of all the problems I've heard about the Unoffical wheel - the extra cash seems worth it to me...

Does it take long to get used too? Are opposite steering locks quick? And do times improve :clock:

Also as if that wern't enough questions, How do you get the right driving position? Thanx

I was instantly quicker by anything from a second at Midfield to nearly 4 seconds at Trial Mountain!, much smoother too, if your racing requires constantly switching from lock-2-lock then your not going to be travelling very quickly

If you need to, you can go from lock-2-lock quickly though, but again, you'll not end up in those situations so much with a wheel (I dont anyway - unless its deliberate drift-fun!) as your so much smoother with it in the first place. The smoothness also seems to make tyres last longer - although that may be psychological...

My wheel (from Freeola btw) has given GT3 yet another new lease of life for me and I would recommend it to anyone!

As for driving position, I just base it on the proportions of a real car, spacing bits out until it feels right, although once I get my cockpit underway I'll be taking measurements from some cars to get things right. 😈

Problems with the unofficial wheel?? The red one is not unofficial.

The problems that has been reported is with the new PS2 GT3 wheel. (the one i have pictured)

The frist version of the GT3 wheel is a replica of the red PC one.
The only thing that have changed, are the logo in the middle of the wheel, and the shape of the buttons.

All of the electronics are the same.

In fact, Polyphony Digital used the red one while making GT3. Logitech didn't make the blue one until GT3 was nearly completed.

It doesnt have the GT logo on it - as far as I'm concerned its not the OFFICIAL wheel.

The one you've pictured isn't the one I have ... mine is blue but without the directional pad and with a GT logo rather than Logitech. From what I read on this very forum, the GT-Force wheel (the OFFICIAL one) is fine, and the Driving Force wheel (the GENERIC logitech one) can be problematic.

Either way - my wheel works, only cost £70 and I dont give two shiznits if it cost another £10 more than the other version.

Man, you don't seem to understand what i am trying to say, do you??

The red one and the blue one, are THE SAME, and they BOTH WORK FINE...

The NEW blue one with the directional buttons have problems changing gear while turning...

You might find it a bit difficult to beat your laptimes, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be wondering why you did't buy one sooner.
