Is anyone else having a hard time finding one of these?

I went to BestBuy (I have credit!) The web site says "Unavailable for shipping." No stores in my area have it and no stores in three states around me have it. (Damn! But I have credit!)

The robot behind the chat box said 'Unavailable.' 'I have no information about that question at this time.' uh ok I didn't ask anything but yea. Do you know when you will get some? 'I have no information about that question at this time.' Yeah I had a feeling you'd fail the Turning Test. Damn robot AI.

I went up Logitec's web site and it says 'Out of Stock' as well. Does anyone have any inside info on these? It looks like the game is selling these wheels a bit faster than the bean counters projected. Or they are getting ready to deliver a new product package and just ran out of the old packages before the new ones hit the retail outlets.

You want to know what's really bad. It went on sale at Best Buy the week before Christmas and sold out. The week after Christmas. Went back on sale again at 99.00 even though they never received another shipment.

Got mine at Gamestop.

Yeah I saw that as well. There was a flyer in my area with the big $99 promo but no store in my area had any.

I wonder if Game Stop would float me?

Whole of the uk is out of stock too. eBay is the only place with them at the moment. However some stores are saying they will have stock in a couple of weeks but then some are saying these are not being made anymore and will be released as a new revision in the upcoming weeks/months

Who knows :( all I know is I want a steering wheel and done want to spend hundreds of £/$

oooh that would be interesting. I wonder if the new revision will come with a bungee.

"Well... I have to go. The bounce has gone out of his bungee." -Wallace

can just about get one for £110 - £120 over here, but that's with the "rarity tax" that online retailers love to slap on things.

Argos, Game, Gamestation, have been advertising at about £80 for months but either never or very infrequently have stock

Dixons/PCWorld/Currys have removed it from the website completely

Logitech clearly aren't meeting demand with supply on this (crazy marketing idea - produce more around the release of probably the biggest driving game ever, don't run out). There are loads on eBay UK now, mostly going for over GBP100.00. I would be very careful to check the condition though, and make sure it is the "GT" version with the pedals!

I didn't even think to check Amazon's stock. Best Buy's $99 deal made this a "must have" for me, but of course all of the stores within 250mi were out of stock. GameStop at the local mall had a small pile of them and said they were flying out the door. $129 was sill a fantastic price for what I got: 1/2sec off my lap times at Daytona, and I was smooth with the controller.

I'm getting the impression a wheel is pretty essential for Daytona, it's stupidly hard to stay smooth on the outside with a controller, you always end up scraping along the barrier or over correcting and snapping back across the road

At least i do :grumpy:

Fry's had it @ $129 with a $30 mail in rebate, I picked up another one as my original DFGT broke, and was waiting on Logitech to send me a replacement.

Now I return the one Logitech sent me, get my money back PLUS the rebate, and I'm up $130 and never had to wait for a wheel.

= D

This is insane.. I got my DFGT last year around April. From Amazon for £70.. It was £70 most places now the average is £100 +..

Logitech clearly enjoying the low production = demand = higher RRP tactic

Not Logitech but all the retailers.

Not Logitech but all the retailers.

Well that but im certain the set RRP which Logitech gives to retailers and the stock price for the wholesale must of gone up too.

So what makes you so certain?
Seems more like that RRP has always been the same and the low price a couple months back was rather because of low demand (i.e. GT5 not released yet :P).

I'm gonna get my DFGT tomorrow, i want full race speed out of my FGT and X1,
and for now, i can't drive my FGT without flying offtrack, tryin to win FGT championship!

The week after Christmas. Went back on sale again at 99.00 even though they never received another shipment.

Yeah, I saw this sale, got all excited for nothing. Not available online or within 250 miles of me either. How can they put something on sale that they don't even have? I think Best Buy should give us rain checks for that price.

Gamestop Online has been showing "Backordered" for a while, but most of their brick & mortar stores have multiples. They seem to be keeping them in back, not out on the floor. Hit the "Check Availability" button and then call your locals to check. Make sure they're clear that you want the Driving Force GT and not the older cheaper one.

Also, LiveWire and others, Best Buy WOULD have given you a rain check if you'd asked. My buddy got one.

Well I just printed my return shipping label cause I accidentally crimped the wire mounting it on my new Xlerator Big Boy Wheel Stand. The warranty guy said they should have more instock to send me by the time mine gets from GA to AZ. B-Spec till I get it back. Just not the same with the controller..

Shipping mine back tomorrow for warranty replacement. They said they would have more instock by the time mine got from GA to AZ. They better cause its not the same with the controller.
