I'm currently shopping for a GT wheel on a tight budget, (either a used GT or Driving Force Pro) and was wondering if the Driving Force GT will function without a power supply. I've heard it limits / disables the force feedback, but I'm willing to go without if it functions normally otherwise. Hope you folks can help, thanks for reading :)

Bumping for interest. I haven't been succesful in getting my DFP to work on my PC without the power supply. Has anyone?

I own one but im at work and I will try test it when I get time...however...my answer is probably going to be no as I think (if I remember correctly) the usb isnt detected in windows until it has power.

I have both so when i get round to trying youll know, but does it not come with a power supply or something? Whats the issue here?

Just tried my DFGT unplugged on the PS3 with Gt5P and everything works except the steering so you will need a power supply.

Buying used, the only DFGT in my price range was missing a power supply.

I just got done using my DFGT without the power supply plugged into the wall and everything but the force feedback works.
