ok, I have done my search on this Wheel and its been getting mixed reactions, some people say it works and some people say it's got problems, so, whats the story?

I would like for everyone that has or had the driving force wheel (NOT the GT wheel) to post here telling everyone if they have had the problems (shifting problem in manual shifting or braking problems) or not with it. I just want to sort it all out for everyone and myself. If the wheel is working fine for some people than i guess it has to be a configuration problem or something.

I can't see how this wheel could have so many problems when it was designed and made with the game GT3 in mind!! and not only that but it's been out since september 01 and neither sony or logitech has come out saying that there is a compatibility problem with either GT3 or the driving force wheel.
Any replies to this will be much appreciated as i would love for this situation to be finally resolved so that i can finally purchase and enjoy it!

Lowteg - first off, welcome to the forums.

:D

Ya, I went through 5 of the wheels before I finally gave up... I didn't have any braking problems with it (not sure if it even has a brake ) but I always had problems with down/upshifting while turning.

Because of this, it was useless to me...

I'm not sure that was a configuration error, since there is no configuration necessary with it - while you can change some of the settings, the defaults should be enough to get you up and rollin' without any problems.

I just didn't get lucky with any of mine...

:(

Hrrrrm. That's interesting, Werner, but also half a year old. Is there any updated information?

I'd also like to buy a wheel sometime, but I want one that:

A) is compatible with more than one game, and

B) works.

Are they any others out there? I really want a feedback wheel.

PS - one thing I really like about this forum: every new user gets several "welcome" posts from the regulars. That's nice, you guys. Let me add my own howdy to lowteg...

Hello Werner, I am interested also in purchasing a good wheel and not one with problems such as shifting while turning. If I'm not doing at least four things at once I'm not driving. I know what you need because when you got it all together and you are using braking and the accelerator, the gears and turning at the same time, it's more fun and faster.

So c'mon peoples what's the best wheel out there for Werner and me?

hey guys, thanks for replying.

Werner that post is very old and doesn't take into consideration the shifting and braking problem that most driving force users are experiencing :)

I wish this problem never existed because I really really want that wheel :)

I may just pick one up at the store (only if i could return it for a full refund) and give it a try.

Also, I would like to add that the Driving Force wheel by Logitech is the ONLY wheel supported by PS2 right now, which is why this is the only wheel I am even considering. Other wheels you can get will work for GT3 are : The Thrustmaster Ferrari and the Red/black older logitech wheels. but the problem is that they will not work with all the games out now and probably won't work for future games. Thus i do not plan on spending 100$ on a wheel that will only work for GT3, i'd like to use it with other future games as well.

That's a great idea, always "Try before you buy."

I'm think the best wheel for GT-3 , is the old GT-Force !

I'm have the original GT-Force from bundle with GT-3
and the newer GT-Force !

Ther is a difference in the electronic circut !
The new Wheel has a additional electronic component on the Board .

But both Wheels, to operate faultless by me with GT-3 and Burnout .

I'm only hear often from problems by the Driving - Force Wheel .
( Only in the game GT-3 this cant manual Gear shift errorfree )

I say you get what you pay for :p Momo wheel is the most expensive, hence the best you can buy ;)

Tried the Logitech driving force for all of 1 day and sent it back :D
