ok...so i got the new logitech force feedback wheel
got it working and everything but the problem i notice is that i can't seem to go in a straight line with it.
as soon as i start as the tires spin up....car moves sideways ....which is ok....but then i cannot stabelize it at all....what ever i corect ... seems like i overcorect it and eventually end up crashing in the wall....
no problems with the PS2 controller thought

I even did the calibration and didn't help....is this a bad wheel?
It is recomended by GT3 game themselves and the wheel is primarily designed for it.

Ideas...comments....suggestions??

Wow - that is completely unlike my experience with the wheel. I found it extremely easy to set up, both on the PS2 and the laptop (I'm the only guy in the world playing Grand Prix Legends on a 12.1 inch LCD screen)

Assuming you've been through all of the options I'd say you've a problem with the wheel there. Take it back to the shop and demonstrate the problem - there are noted quality issues with the Logitech wheel.

if you say that there are noted quality issues...should i be looking at a diffenent brand.....i saw other ones in the store and they were cheaper...around $CAN89.99 where as this one was $CAN149.99

I know this will seem contradictory, but you get what you pay for. The other wheels don't seem to provide the same quality of feedback and you may have some compatibility issues.

I've had mine for about three months and I've no issues, other than the well-documented power problem which is 95% better since the wheel got its own powerpoint (and curiously has never occured with any other game).

well i got the driving force for GT3/PS2

it was 150 CAN and i got those problems....

has anybody else noticed issues with it?

There are plenty of threads here about our little Logitech friend - have a look around.

I had a similar problem when I first started using the wheel, it just takes a little while to get used to the centering process. After a few days it will be second nature to you. :)

Actually Tom makes a good point - have you used a steering wheel before?

I've been using one since '97 (the much maligned Madcatz) so it's pretty much second nature now, but now I think about it your symptoms sound exactly like what a mate of mine goes through every time he comes up from Melbourne and visits - I think the quicker turning ratio compared to a road car throws a lot of people initially.

I hate posting twice in a row, but.....

I have noticed a serious issue with the wheel, that may prevent you from wanting it at all. When I hook it up, and clamp it to a table I set up in front of my TV, my friends come over and play for 8 hours at a stretch. They have the game too, but now they hang out over my house, playing on the wheel.
Even worse is that they mooch out of my fridge too.
So, I'd have to say stay away until they come out with some kind of a patch, or a fix for this issue, because you'll really be dissapointed. ;)

Yeah - I used to get that. Have you tried moving to another city, Tom? Worked wonders for me.

Wow, I've got a similar problem. I lent mine to a *friend* and I haven't seen or heard from him in months. Do you think this could be a related bug?

i can reccomend the Thrustmaster ForceFeedback, (the best forcefeedback I have ever felt)

ps. i also bought the logitech (driving force / blue), but i delivered it back to the store, because it had some gearing-problems !!!!

Actually, here's something that I haven't seen mentioned yet...

I plugged my wheel into my PC, and it recognized it instantly. (Windows XP) The D-pad is listed as a POV hat, and all the buttons are there. So anyone that can't justify the cost for their PS2, add in the bonus of having a great PC wheel as well. :D

Cool I hadn't tried that yet, but thats great coz I've got a couple of racing games for my PC. I used to use the Microsoft Sidewinder but I re-formatted my PC and lost the software for it. I was devastated!! :(
