I'm not sure if these issues are G25/27 specific, but the controller is pretty much unusable in GT5 with the H-pattern shifter and ABS off.
On downshift, if you heel/toe and blip the throttle, the shifter will not register the downshift half the time. Also, the brake mapping is screwed up, pushing the brake down less than 1/4 of the way shows as half brake pressed which means it's virtually impossible to threshold brake as they just lock up with the pedal only 1/4 of the way down even with soft racing tires!
The thing that really is puzzling is that it works perfectly in prologue! Are there some settings that I'm missing somewhere? It's really ruining the game for me as I can't drive any of the cars like I would in real life, or even like other simulations (like GT5
, iRacing etc). I don't understand how they could have messed this up and not fixed it in either of the 2 patches that have been released.
What makes it doubly frustrating is that otherwise, it feels very good. The car selection and tracks are well done, if only I could drive them properly....
