Logitech g25/g27 thread !!!

Hey ! I always check gt planet for a year now. But never made an account :/ so I'm new to this ****. I really love my g27 but my my g27 shifter is getting a bit loose now....1st/2nd/5th/6th feel alright but 3rd/4th gear feel really loose...it sucks :L I have seen the Japanese mod. But it costs 130 aud !!!! According to itrdc5r. It's seriously expensive (((

Thanks but isn't it for the g25 shifter to make it feel like the g27 shifter ??? Lol

The g27 is stiffer than the g25 so i think it will feel the same. :L

I'm pretty sure people here have done it with a G27 and have felt an improvement in stiffness, having not done it though, I can't be sure, maybe someone could chip in here? *looks around*

The way the shifter is designed, 1st/2nd and 5th/6th are sort of locked into with bolts either side of the stick which slot into metal plates (which also hold the base of the stick) as well as the sprung ball bearing, but 3th/4th are just held into place with the ball bearing. The Chilicoke ball bearing spring spacer mod will help with that to an extent but otherwise, without adding extra plates in the central position, it won't feel as tight as the left and right positions. I thought about a mod involving electromagnets to help provide a more positive feel as well as making it tougher to disengage than engage the gear, but I've still got a warranty so I'm not willing to go poking around in my G27 shifter to do that.

I have to disagree with you neema. I have done Chili cokes mod to my G27 shifter and all 6 gears feel equally tight

I found a vacuum plug for a carbeurator with the end cut off will slide down on the chrome shifter and make all the gears feel tighter by taking up some room in there. Also gets rid of the plasticky sound.

Anything could work by sliding it down under the shifter boot around the chrome shifter.

I have a G25 shifter too. Might try these mods when I get some time and then I can at least compare it to the "Japanese" mod.

NjLowrider, hmm...just visualising your shifter, wondering what's in there, chewing gum? pencil shavings, nail clippings!!! Sorry, better stop visualisation.
