The G25 has non helical gears so it is a lot noisier than the likes of the Thrustmaster T500 which is belt driven or even the G27 which has helical gears. How loud is it? Does it feel like it has much resistance as you turn it with it unpowered? (It should spin easily).

A video of your G25 making that noise would be good.

hi guys , i made a video check it out below...............

Does it feel like it has much resistance as you turn it with it unpowered?

for both powered and unpowered it feels the same..............

ive taken 2 videos and merged them together , the first is with the power adapter not plugged in and USB is plugged in.

the second is the power adapter is plugged in and USB is in also

interestingly im from Melbourne AUS and bought the wheel from Dick Smith

I believe that sounds is just the gears inside. I think the G25 gears were louder than the G27 gears due to the style of gear mesh. That "whirring" sound is kind of classic G25.

You're not only one, I bought off Dick Smith Australia and got grind noise as well....I own for one year so I sold it last week for bought thrustmaster t300.

It's horrible noise for GRID Autosport drift.....:/
