I was wondering if any of you have tried exchanging the springs from the clutch and gas pedals? Basically, just swapping them with each other. I'm not entirely sure if it possible without cutting the springs as I have not opened the pedals yet. I want to swap them because the gas pedal is too light, or maybe because I have a heavy foot. I don't mind having less resistant to the clutch since it is close to worthless in GT5 anyway.

So can it be done without adjusting the length of the springs?

Also, has anyone attempted to make the shifter and the clutch mechanical? Just a thought...

What do you mean by this? As for swapping the springs, I'm sure I've read that people do it all the time. They're probably all the same length, just different tensions, but I've never seen them so I can't be sure.

Yes they are interchangeable. I have my clutch spring in my gas pedal as well. Just note the top and bottom when you remove the old one. Some have stated an issue and I believe this is the problem. Also make sure it is seated in the grove in the bottom of the plastic housing.

I'll try it later, figure it shouldn't be that difficult. As for the clutch and shifter, something that blocks the opening for shifting when the clutch isn't depressed. It wouldn't help at all in-game, but a good of somewhat a solution for people hitting neutral when shifting.

I tried getting the clutch spring in the accelerator pedal when I bought an aftermarket brake spring and it didn't quite work for me. Everytime I pressed the pedal, it made an annoying noise and appeared not to be working propperly, so I undid the switch. I re-read the .pdf instructions for the brake spring mod and it mentioned that the brake spring could go in the clutch pedal, but said nothing about the accelerator pedal so I guess it can't be done.

I'm not planning on swithcing the brake springs though. Just the gas and clutch swap, no after market parts also.

Does it feel a bit weird when you have so little resistance on your brake pedal? I'm thinking like your its similar to having a busted master cylinder.
