Now I've realised i can get the Logitech G27 for £200, I've pretty much decided that it shall be my wheel upgrade of choice, but i just really want to know how much electricity it uses!

At the mo, I have a Thrustmaster Ferrari Something-or-other (No FFB but a really good starting wheel btw) so I haven't had the problem of another plug.

Any feedback about it's power consumption, or any better wheel alternatives I should look at is much appreciated :)

I have g27, buttkicker amp, modem, 32" lcd, ps3 and tritton amp all on 1 power strip with no problems. 👍

My fanatec wheel only takes 1.5amps in 240V, so that means the G27 should not take much more or less. They take very little energy. The only thing they need to worry about is your increased use of the PS3 and TV!:lol:

Also, what buttons are pre-configurated to the wheel and shifter block? I've heard you can't change them from what their set as at default.

Problem is, I'm doing Le Mans soon with some friends, and 2 of them haven't played gt5 before so they may need TC on, but if I can't pop the RA menu on theyll be a bit screwed as I don't want it on.

And one final thing, can you change between using paddles and using the shifter in race? I fancy doing Le Mans with the shifter but they will want to use paddles.

You can rubber band a DS3 to the wheel to bring up the RA menu.

But would you have to say pause the game, change the ds3 to controller #1, then go onto the settings?
I plan on doing the race without pausing etc.

To answer both your questions;

You can assign a DS3 to controller #1 slot and use the wheel at the same time so no need to pause the game to switch between the two. Then all you'd have to do is assign the RA functions to the pad buttons.

You can switch between paddles, stick shift with no clutch or stick shift and clutch easily without pausing the game. To switch from paddles to stick with no clutch, you just start shifting with the stick instead of the paddles IIRC. To start using the clutch with the shifter, you just press the clutch in and change gear. To go back to paddles, you just click one of them and that's it.

Hope I explained that well enough:tup:
