Hey guys.

I've been looking to upgrade from my current steering wheel for awhile now (Fanatec Speedster Pro), when I found this auction on Trademe (NZ's equivalent to eBay). I was wondering what everyone's opinion on this type of wheel would be, as it looks like a pretty solid wheel. I was also wondering if it was worth the price, as if you read the description, it says that one of the wheel clamps is broken, which is a bit of a concern. Would it be easy to repair? And, most importantly, would it be expensive?

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm probably wrong, as I'm just assuming here, but the Momo predates the Driving Force Pro and isn't supported by consoles (but I think you already knew that), I would assume the gearbox is loud and friction...y? Frictionful? Has a lot of internal friction, making it harder to turn quickly (I assume this because it's how the DFP was). I wouldn't be surprised if the clamps are the same as those from a DFP, they look the same from the tiny images I can find on Google, but of course that would mean buying a broken DFP to scavenge the clamps out of. The alternatives are a DIY fix or to make a cockpit and bolt the wheel on permanently I suppose (which is what I'd do, but thinking about it, if you weren't intending to do that you could just put the money you'd spend on building a cockpit into getting a new DFGT instead!).

I've always liked the look of the Momo wheel and I assume others do too as they tend to command a higher price than the DFP does. Still, I think I'd recommend a DFGT instead because of the helical gearbox, but I imagine you've already looked at that option. Whatever you choose, try and find a set of G25/27 pedals, the plastic two pedal Logitech sets are utterly hateful rubbish.

In short, if I had to choose between the Momo and a DFP, I'd take the Momo. Between the Momo and DFGT it would be the DFGT. Ideally I'd take the Momo wheel rim and put it on a DFGT base, then I'd throw the standard pedals very much away and replace them with G27 ones.

From the looks of it, the Momo was one of the pioneers when it came to logitech's sim racing hardware. But, as shown by this video, it definitely doesn't even compare with the driving Force GT.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Is it worth the $30 dollars to buy? Or should I just save up the extra $40 - $50 and buy a DFGT/DFPGT?

Sorry for the double post.

What are your guy's opinions on the Logitech Driving Force Pro GT (model number E-UJ11)?
