Logitech Momo Racing 2002 PROBLEM

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Logitech MOMO Racing (red) wheel from 2002, which I modded for 900 degrees of rotation (same as my other MOMO that works perfectly).

✅ The wheel connects to PC just fine.
✅ Logitech Profiler detects it as connected.
✅ All buttons and pedals work.
✅ Force feedback seems fine.
Steering does not register at all — no signal when turning the wheel.

What happened:
When I first plugged it after standign on a shelf for one year, the wheel did one crazy spin (in profiler view) from center to full rotation to left (while i did like few millimeters of movement), and then the steering stopped working completely. Now, no matter how I turn it, the profiler shows nothing — no rotation signal.

🛠 What I’ve checked:

  • Same profiler, same PC — second MOMO (also modded to 900°) works perfectly.
  • Opened the wheel — everything looks okay, but I suspect the optical/hall sensor or encoder is dead.

Looking for:

  • Replacement part (sensor/encoder) — where can I find one in 2025?
  • Compatible part ideas — maybe something from another model?
  • DIY fixes — has anyone repaired this before and can share tips or tricks?

💡 Why I’m doing this:
I want to fix what’s broken. I don’t want to buy a new wheel yet — just want this one working so I can keep testing if sim driving is really for me. I mainly play ETS2 and sometimes Assetto Corsa — casual fun, nothing competitive.

Any help or ideas would be really appreciated! Thanks a lot.

👉 Extra info:
Bought two MOMOs for €50 — one perfect (gifted to a friend but also tried on same profiler to check if this driver problem and second wheel works perfectly!), this one I’m trying to rescue.

THANKS!
