Logitech Force Feedback/Driving Force/GT-Force

To clean up any doubts about which wheel I'm talking about, it's the steering wheel called "Driving Force" manufactured by Logitech.

A bundle package with the GT3-game and a Steering wheel called "GT-Force" came with the package, and it's actually ALMOST the same wheel as "Driving Force".

Both theese Wheel also goes by the name Logitech Force Feedback

BUT.......
I bought the "Driving Force" yesterday and i had some problems with the gearshifting. url: (http://forums.gtplanet.net/showthread.php?threadid=3855)

So..one of my friends brougth the GT-force-wheel (the wheel that came with the bundlepackage) so i could test it, and there was NO PROBLEMS!!!!

Then i knew something was wrong....I returned the wheel at the store and got a new....IT'S STILL NOT WORKING!!!!!!

SO I WANT TO WARN EVERYBODY THAT WANT TO BUY THIS WHEEL...THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIFTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking og calling Logitech, on monday and let them know about this. I THINK IT IS A DISASTER!!!

and THEY are the one to call the wheel "The Official GT3 Wheel"

IT SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS...and YES I'm FREAKIN' MAD!

Interesting - I got one of the last official GT3 wheels (with Gran Turismo badging) and apart from the intermittant cutting out issue (much better since the wheel got its own power point) I have had no problems. Not a one.

i also had problems with the gt force steering wheel and as a result after testing with it over about 5 days it was carefully packed up back in its box and back to the shop for a full refund !! never again

just for setting it straight

GT FORCE = OK!
DRIVING FORCE = NOT OK!

(both are logitech steering wheels, almost identic)

I have the driving force, and haven't had a single problem yet. My friends and I love to race with it every chance we get. I wonder if I just got lucky?:nervous:

So what are you using now? The DS2?

Yea .. I bought the wheel but I haven't really used it much. The DS2 does a pretty good job, and the game designers knew most people would be using it anyway. I still want to get to using the wheel though. I'm going to build a little frame around an "umbrella chair recliner" for it to mount on, eventually ... (:

The only problems that I've noticed is quick shifting. It doesn't like to shift up or down quickly, which is a major pain. The steering and force feedback are pretty good though. Not worth $100, but oh well.

I think you need to take a longer term view of it - more and more games that compatible with the force-feedback wheels are and will be coming out.

Lotus Challenge (okay, the game sucks), EA's F12001, WRC, next year's Sony F1 game, to name just a few.

I'm probably looking at this with rose-tinted glasses as I've only had the power issue (which is MUCH better since the wheel got its own powerpoint), but if you're into your driving games, I think this is your best choice.

And I still don't drive my car with a joystick!

I had this EXACT same problem with my Driving Force! I returned mine and tried a second...with the same results! It's good to know I'm not the only one (even though the guys at EB said I was). It's a shame, because I really did enjoy the wheel otherwise.

Naw, I'm back to using the DS2. I'm not sure I want to bother with a new wheel...I've had more trouble with them than they're worth (more than just the Driving Force).

Ok..i brought back the second "Driving Force" i tried.....and got my self a "Thrustmaster Force Feedback"...and IT WORKS, and with even MORE feedback power....(you really get to feel the RUMMMBLE)

the wheel is bigger and there are a "real"-type gearshift to the right, and "racer"-type shifts behind the wheel as in a f1...ITS GREAT..and highly recommended (the forceback is 2 or 3 times more powerfull tha logitechs!!!!!! and the pedals are also better....i hated the break pedal on the the "driving force" pedalset!!

so.. Thrustmaster Force Feedbacks works verywell for gt3

note: ...I just discovered that i DOES NOT work to "Worl Rally Championship" for ps2 though...

I can definitely confirm the GT3 Logitech wheel works with WRC - mine was this morning, and will be later this evening.

I heard a comment somewhere on a review site that the GT3 Forcefeedback wheel works with the Sony F1 game - Formula One 2001 - does anyone know if this is true?

I'll test it sometime tonight and advise, but was wondering if anyone here knew off the top of their heads.

I spoke a little too soon. I bought it in September, and last week it quit working. The indicator lights on the wheel go on, and the wheel moves when the game starts, but none of the buttons, the wheel, or the pedals work.

I called Logitech and after a 20 minute toll call plus a long description of the problem, they said they would send me a new one.

in this particular situation, i think it just was a normal curcuit-board-meldown (or something), theese things happen :)

your lucky, I guess... you'll get a new one!!!!

I've also got the GT Force (Force Feedback). Not only does it work correctly (power issue now and again), it also works 'nicely' in my PC (force-feedback in most games).

Guess I'm just lucky :D

Max.

I've decided to get a wheel, and it is either going to be the Logitech MOMO Racing Force Feedback Wheel,or the Wingman GP Wheel. Are both of these wheels FULLY compatible with GT3 ?

Ive got the Logitech driving force and the only prob is not shifting down when full lock is applied. It only happens sometimes, I can live with it but I get pissed off when I want to drop a gear for drifting and it wont:)

I have a driving force wheel with the shifting problem and 75% braking, but I still think it's great because of the precise steering, braking, and acceleration. I reprogrammed the top 2 silver buttons to do the shifting, which works perfectly and even better than pulling those two paddles onto my big fingers. Anyway, I like my wheel, and never use anything else.
