I just bought the Driving Force wheel and was wondering if it was broken. The "problem" is the wheel steers by itself. I change the levels of steer assist but it seems to do nothing. Only taking Force Feedback off stops it. On straightaways the car veers left and right. If I left go of the wheel it turns for me when I hold the gas down. If I hit a wall the wheel turns left and right really fast. Is this supposed to happen?

I really don't think that is supposed to happen. I'd go get yourself a refund and spend some more money on a MOMO steering wheel.

The MOMO by Logitec is from what I hear the best steering wheel.
It's actually designed for the PC but it will work on the PS2 through a USB cable.

Would you happen to know if it'll work with any other racing games on the PS2 apart from GT3??? I am considering getting one...:D

Sorry D the V, I'm not sure if it works for any other games.
You might want to ask Mr. P or UB57 cus they both have a momo. Famine might have one also.

But why would you want to play any other game? :D

It IS supposed to do this. Mine does it too.

Go over a rumble strip without holding the wheel. You will notice it will go left then right depending on the angle you go over it at. Think if you were in a real car and you hit a bump without holding on to the wheel, it wouldn't keep going straight.

I'm hopefully picking one up through the week...for a nice $200 AU...:D

wow i just looked it up on logitech.com 240 Degrees of Steering...wow...if you get that theres no need to the new wheel thats comming out with GT4, The current driving force only has 90 degrees of steering

Wait i take that back, the new gt4 wheel will have 900 degrees of rotation..Read this

"Lastly, the Logitech Steering Wheel, which demoed at E3, will ship simultaneously with GT4 (sometime in 2004). The wheel is impressive. It enables 900 degrees of rotation, which means two and a half times around, exactly like a real car steering wheel turns. The friction is heavier, giving players more resistance on turns, and it features a standalone brake and acceleration pad, as well as a standalone gearshift. It's highly desirable."

Good old Logitech...

My REAL car's REAL steering wheel turns 3.5 times lock-to-lock. My brother's REAL Subaru Impreza RB5's REAL steering wheel turns 3 times lock-to-lock.

I'm guessing their definition of "real" varies from mine by about £100,000... :D
