He had a better showing in China, so we should see. As far as Paffett, he was involved with the Prodrive F1 team talks, so he might get a seat with them if they go through with that.
Going back to the topic of Lola, they have a lot of experience building bodies and chassis for lower Formulas, but where would they source things like engines? Ferrari? Maybe if they bought STR...
Put two and two together......
We currently have Prodrive-Aston Martin racing a Lola-built chassis in the Le Mans series.
Prodrive don't want to join unless they can get a chassis built cheaply by another company.
Lola don't have their own race team, they are only chassis suppliers.
Hmmm, plus there is the possibility of the Cosworth tender engine.
I can imagine that David Richards talked Lola into "considering" this F1 return so he has a chassis supplier.
So Lola and Prodrive won't be seperate entires, they are in fact going to be the same one, it would make sense seeing as these news items appeared so close together.
The question is, will it be a Lola, Prodrive or Aston Martin F1 team? The likely option would be "Aston Martin Racing run by Prodrive using Lola chassis" like in the LMS. I would certainly prefer to see Aston Martin return to F1 especially if they use their dark green racing livery (I've missed green cars in F1....the Jaguars, Benettons and Jordan looked so nice).
