London Endurance

I'm thinking in starting a online endurance
The track would be London Reverse 80 laps which is the same as 150 miles. I pick this track because i realized how awesome it is, and i really wanted that there was a offline endurance there. but sadly there isn't so why not make my own?

Since the track got no pits, The tire wear will be turned off as so the fuel.

I'm posting up this thread to check if anyone is interested in it. If so I can start it up, and with a car prize for the winner of course.

So, Anyone up to it?

Endurance races are fun BECAUSE of strategy. I'm sorry, I doubt that too many people want to run 80 laps of the same track, with no sort of strategy. Even Time Trial drivers are likely to get bored, with no reason to slow down, pace yourself, and strategize. I like the idea of a long race, but London isn't the right place for it, I'm afraid.

How about 50 Laps on SSR5, just like in Gran Turismo 2, There is possible to do pit stops in that track so i think this problem would be solved.
Would be sort of a nostalgia race.

Also i was thinking about a limitation to Street cars only, with 520 PP max. And Race Hard tires only.

A quick visit to my signature will tell you that this sort of a race would fit well with the cars I drive anyways. I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I'd like to run an endurance race of a decent length, and I want this to succeed.

That'd be a quite interesting series. But, to narrow the 520 pp down, a bit, could we decide on the car you want to drive the most? I will take a German or Japanese front-engined rear-wheel-drive car and run it. However, I'll decide which one, once I know which car you want to drive.

Any car that fits good for you is fine, I just want to have a good race without overpowered cars. So i can lower the PP based on what you'll be driving.

What were you thinking of driving at London? It should still be the same car, and we could use a dedicated car "class" system, such as "Muscle cars," or "Touring Cars," or "saloons" (4 doors) etc.

Example: I could sign up in a Lancer Evo IV, if it were a saloon race, but couldn't sign up in an S2000.

However, if you decide not to outright ban any specific car or type of car, then maybe you could try to organize this into a three spec-race, meaning that HP, weight and PP will all be used to balance the cars, OR you could run with a set of cars from across the board, and ask people to choose from about 250+ cars, and let them choose. Then, you just do some testing and see how each car compares to every other car.

The problem is that the PP system is inaccurate with some cars, like the Honda NSX. The Honda NSX would need much less PP (10 or 20 less) to be as fast as a Lancer Evo IV, for example.

Okay, let's call it a Sports Car Endurance (Pirelli World Challenge series, for example) and allow two door cars only. That means cars like the Honda NSX and Honda S2000 will be in. That should work to limit the car list a bit.

I think these settings are fine. Like I said i just want a fair race for everyone without Overpowered cars.

Wanna add me on PSN, and then we can work on the lobby settings together? Otherwise, I've run some series and helped out in some series. The best way to "get your hands dirty" is to get "into the oil pan" at the base. At the base of a good series are the cars and the regulations.

We'll start with the regulations, then, once we've figured them out, we'll move/copy this thread to the Online Competitions pages, just to get more drivers.

Most drivers like seeing detailed Original Posts (OPs), explaining race times, length and regulations before hand, to ensure that they can come prepared.
