For the first video, I finally see some review/preview/gaming sites with editors who don't suck ass at the game. Then I see the in car one, and I see ramming in the first corner, I was like...NEVERMIND.

Oh, guys, do you notice something? The driver's hand leaves the wheel to shift, I don't think it was there in the demo.

You're joking right? Sounds as horrible as the other GT games..

otherwise it seems awesome!

you can easly tell they re did the tire sounds :) they sounds a lot better and real then ever in GT :)

I'm also of the opinion that tyre sounds have improved, they're a lot more 'rubbery', you can hear the friction.

Although they seem to appear somewhat exaggerated on some of the spots. When the car's doing a wide turn at a high speed, tyres should sound more subtle. The heard sound fits better on loss of grip due to over-accelerating or wheel-lock under hard braking.

Kinda offtopic, but speaking of rubber, have you noticed this?

When I saw it back in the GT5 Prologue demo, I was like "WTF, that's not even the propper race line", at least not for me.

But now, we see the rubber race line fixed... That tells a lot about the attention to details PD puts on their game.

Believe me, GT5 is at 1080p.

Well, i think it is not full 1080p res, at least not the demo. It is something like 1280x1080 instead of 1920x1080.

Different racing styles I think. Should jsut made the rubber line over a wider area and thinner. I personally, use a line somewhere in between the two, and a later apex than the second picture (for the sweeping right).

i am glad to hear the sounds are a little more accurate. the rsx actually sounds like a honda but it still has no vtec crossover, not a big deal but it would be fun to hear. this biggest sound effect problem i have is the turbo, it sounds really odd and even with heavy upgrading there is no blow-off at least not that i can detect.

Tyre squeals sounds pretty dam good.

Looks like an awesome track.

Tires sound awful. I've never heard a car's tires sound like a banshee when trying to grip the road or slide.

funnily enough my friends renault clio sport tyres sound just like that when im in his car and he is cocking a back leg throwing it around the back streets of lugarno sydney...!! 👍 albiet not quite as obviously loud.... but same pitch! must be the michelin tyres :) think all cars vary in their pitch but i imagine that has not been taken into consideration.....

either way no matter what sound they come up with we wont be happy... too high.... too long.... doesn't sound like rubber.... too excessive... not excessive enough.... kind of like the smoke around the tyres debate!! haha oops hope i don't get that one started again :scared:

The tires were definitely a bit overboard, but it sounded like the other cars in the video weren't having as much trouble with that. I wonder if maybe that one sound file was messed up, and they only had the "full e-brake/drift" tire sound that activated every time the tires shifted on the pavement?

Needz more vidz.

"Run Away! Run Away!"

Only if he was driving a French car could that be more perfect, LOL!

just watched the videos in 720p and I'm a little underwhelmed. Oh well... still excited! I just wanted to see something that would trounce PGR4 (graphically). Bought my copy of GT5P online today, cant wait to play it!

Maybe he was just driving more agressively than the AI opponents.

How big were you expecting it to be? And I don't see anyone else complaining and in fact seem to be glad that there is a UK city track in GT5P at all and I don't imagine another version being put in either just because its Track length is shorter then Suzuka east course. By the way, I don't find making a thread about your dissaproval of this track to be as necessary as posting it in the GT5 Lastest News and General Discussion Thread.

He's not trying you to make you hate it, you make it seem like he's insulting you or something, get a grip.

Anyone recognize parts of the London track?
Yes, it looks very familiar indeed. It's so realistic that I was half-expecting to be able to see that phone box on Shaftesbury Avenue full of little postcards with semi-naked women on them, advertising their 'business'.

I'm a bit dissapointed about the 'London' Track in GT5P. i was picturing a night circuit about the size of George Paris, but its tiny! Although the rendering's good, theres only 8 corners, and its legnth is shorter than the Suuka East course! I hope there's a bigger version in the full GT5...
As long as it doesn't go anywhere near Whitechapel, it's cool... 👍

It's pretty nice to drive, as Touring Mars said it's definetly accurate. The middle section is the best as it has a fast left-right that will be hard to master, and you can be surprisingly aggresive through a lot of the turns.

I'm well aware of that so thats strange you say that. How exactly do I make it sound like he's insulting me? I'm simply telling him there was no need for a individual thread to have been made to show his dislike for a track in a game which already has its own discussion threads so don't tell me to get a grip. If anything, you've missread my comment otherwise you would not come to this bizarre and negative assumption.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I think that it's because he's using a controller? So it keeps going to full lock on the longer turns, which would cause the tyre to squeal excessively, I'm sure anyone with a front wheel drive car can relate.

If you go round a corner in the wet a bit quickly, you've probably noticed there's a point whereby if you turn the wheel much more, it just understeers. Imagine constantly throwing the car to full lock, the tyres would definitely squeal in the dry...

Maybe we'll get to see a video of someone with a wheel who can drive playing it soon :)

Controllers don't full-lock the steering on a high speed turn, that's not an excuse.

And in my opinion, neither is the 'aggressive driving'.

Those sounds happening on those situations being a natural product of the way he's driving, only if the GT-ABS was off and he was pressing the brake fully, over and over again, while going through turns, which isn't the case, as you can see by the car's speed and no diving.

Off course it's too short, and there should be at least 10 different London tracks, what about the City, the River, Canary Wharf etc. etc. etc. - but this is definately the best, most realistic, London track I've seen in ANY game. and I'm definately glad i'ts included.

Is it just me or is London almost impossible to drive because it is so dark...on my TV unless you are in the light it is so dark...none of the other tracks are like this...

I read somewhere that the London track was made slightly brighter in an update (and this was before the release of the EU version)...?

It's fine to drive on my Bravia X even in day time. It's one of my favourite tracks wish it was in more events, especially an unrestricted one.

I will have a look again, I have a 32" HD tv which is pretty bright, maybe two player was a bad idea!

London looks fine on my 42" Panny plasma. I hate that right hander after the s/f straight, the only time I got it right (in the Elise event) I got rammed from behind as I was exiting the corner and received a penalty (go figure). I really love the second half of the track, but I have not quite figured out that combo before Trafalgar Square.

So London is a "IRL track" in the meaning that all the buildings are there irl? I'm going to London this week, maybe i should go see if i can find any similarities. :)

I haven't noticed any problems with how bright things appear on the London track on my 40" Bravia W-series. It's a damn fine track, so realistic as well. On my first lap, I came round the corner on Shaftesbury Avenue and it looked just like how I remeber it when we walked down there back in February.

This could help...print it and walk the track...
