Lonesome George is DEAD​

Lonesome George, the last remaining tortoise of his kind and a conservation icon, has died of unknown causes, the Galapagos National Park said.

He was thought to be about 100 years old.

Lonesome George was found in 1972 and had become a symbol of Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, which attracted some 180,000 visitors last year.

"This morning the park ranger in charge of looking after the tortoises found Lonesome George, his body was motionless," the head of the Galapagos National Park, Edwin Naula said. "His life cycle came to an end."

He died this morning 25/06/2012
 
What does this have to do with GT5? Also, thousands of species go extinct every day.

Nothing to do with gt5 but it is pretty sad
 
Nothing to do with GT5 but I was sad I hear if his death.

I've got some great pics of me with George from about 18 years ago.

At least he wasn't eaten by sailors like most of the rest of his species.
 
It is sad but hey he had a "good innings" as they say over here.

So why is it in the GT5 section? GTPlanet does have more sections than the GT5 one you know.
 
To say to the community. why not send it into the gt5 section. its big news worldwide and will change alot of peoples thoughts and make them think.

I was going to move it, but as you've recreated it there, this gets locked.
 
Why do you have to lock it? I did nothing wrong.
 
1. It's a duplicate thread now.
2. It has literally nothing do with GT5, while being in a GT5 section.
