Now that its been a little over a year since GT4 was released, well almost 17 months in some places, I was wondering how often the people who have had the game for at least a year play.
I took a break for a couple of months and got back into GTA: San Andreas and lots of Counter-strike. Recently though I've been doing small race series such as the BMW 1 Series challenge and the FR cup in beginners hall.
I play maybe 3-4 short series a week, perhaps half an hour every second day or so.

Well that's an interesting question. 👍
(rep points awarded :sly: )

I plan relatively often.
That meaning, I work in real life quite a bit and finding the time to play can be tough.
However, atleast once every two days is normal and to say nearly everyday is close to the truth.

I just don't get tired of certain elements of the game. :p
The WRS can provide a challenge for experienced players (see my sig for info on the WRS).
The Arcade mode can provide a quick fix and GT mode can provide the depth desired by those of us looking to perfect tuning or racing lines.

The biggest draw is the "world circuits."
Using the Ring as a base for most of my game play, I enjoy diverse racing on real world tracks and rarely get tired of running laps in GT mode practice.

So there's my answer to your very good question.

I try and get some gt4 in every day, but life gets in the way. So it'd still probly be at the very least, once a week. It's the only game, other than gt3, that I've played on a constant basis for more than a year.

I hate buying new games, because I always lose interest and go back to gt4. It's never failed to destroy all intrest in most other games.

I've had it since day one, and although I took a small 2 month break around christmas (got new games) i've went back to GT4 and play as much as I can (around 10 hours a week usually).

Special Conditions, drifting, running laps around the 'ring and the odd race take up the majority of the time I play, and so far, it hasn't gotten boring. 👍

I've taken the odd one month break here and then, but generally, I play about two or three hours of free lapping (not racing) about every two or three days.

Back in GT3, I played for ten months straight... got the damn 99.8% bug, the quit for six months, then started again just to free lap. It's addicting.

I rarely race. (It's the challenge thing) when I do, I usually lose a lot because I'm trying some esoteric setting, or am using a very slow or unwieldy car against faster opponents.

I've been intending to join the WRS, but my schedule doesn't allow me time for structured play. In fact, I've got five or six articles for the race reports section that are on the back burner till after the next term starts (too much frigging work!)

Since day one I've bine hooked on this game. I mean I still play the game like I just got it. Everytime I'm playin, I'm doin drift, time attack, track meets at some of the best tracks in the game and also tuning cars. I try playin once every 2 days so I don't get rusty. Of course life gets in the way so I did have that one month, but I went right back at it. I guess you can say that we are all car fans and we play GT4 and can't stop. Where just like the football fanatics that play madden. I would be phat if there were compatitions held around the country for GT.......

Ive been bouncin all over and I just recently got back to GT4 and now I just bought the 4 black cars so Im happy now

Great thread...best yet 👍 :)

But to answer your question, because I work evenings, it can be hard to find time except for weekends and overnights til about 4-5am after I'm done work at 2am...I'm just trying to find time to do the last 2 sarthe enduros and the F1 series races and M34 then I'm 100% complete....right now I'm just driving the cars I haven't touched yet and seeing how they handle and how they stand against competition.....but I really like the game

I used to play GT4 everyday but since then I gotten a job so I have less time on my hands. What I do now is the Family Cup Race at the 'Ring. I do that almost exclusively now. Every so often I try Mission 34 (its the only mission I have yet to beat) but only every so often.

i took a long break when FORZA came out and then the release of the 360, but im just now getting back into it ;)

Although I have not had GT4 for a year yet, I play around 3 hours a day. Today I lost track of how long I was playing but it is probably too much, but I really want to get through the Nurburgring 24h race on A-spec. Besides, Im homeschooled so I finnish around 1:00 and have till 6:00. What else would I waste my time on?

Is it harmfull to leave PS2 on for several days in a row?

Unless you have a PS2 that came out within the first 6 months then its fine to do. I only say this because they changed the design to be more thermally efficient as the lifespan went on. Ive taken apart 10+ systems and have seen 3 variations.

I've had GT4 since US day one, but unfortunately I only get to play a few hours every other week or so. In fact I've gone a month or more without getting any gaming in at all.

GT4 is really the only game I play, but I'm just now approaching 50% completion.

It varies for me, some weeks I'll get a few hours in, other time's I can go three or four week's without the playstation even being switched on.

being 14. im either at home bored or out havin fun with my friends.
when im at home its usually Gt4 that gets rid of that anoyying boredem.
sometimes a play everyday for about an hour or so but recently due to exams coming up, i have had to cut down to revise and stuff like that.

when ever i buy a new driving game, or in fact any game i always find myself coming back to GT4 after a couple of weeks.
the biggest gap in my GT4 gaming was probley when i brought GTA SAN ANDREAS.
i feel now whenever i buy a game with any kind of car in im always thinking about how much better GT4 is and that i would much rather playing it

The only two series that I play on a regular basis are Gran Turismo and Resident Evil, they compliment eachother nicely. :)

Like you I'm still young, I'm 16, so I don't really have to work I just have to go to school. Also like you I have teh exams coming up, so I have to put my addiction of cars and the undead on hold.

I got GT about a month after its U.S. release, but I played it sooner because I convinced my friend to purchase it about 3 days after it was released. When he relized he wasn't a big GT4 fan, (he said it was hard to drive, although he loves GT3 and still plays it on a regular basis) he let me borrow it untill I could afford my own copy. GT4 + 8 month vacation + Doritos = heaven

I only play GT4. The disc is into my PS2 like 80% of the time. Other 20% is for the KOR, JPN, CHN and PAL versions.

Yes. I have them all and want to reach 100% in each version.

I´m involved with Gran Turismo about 40% of my time. Playing, building my cockpit, chatting in GTplanet.

i reserved GT4 months before its US release. played for days straight after getting it missing classes to do so (thats honesty and passion for the game)

to this day, im at 95% and play atleast 10-12 hours a week. either trying to get the missions done or just messing around, its an amazing game.

I play GT4 80-85% of the time. It was at 90% but I got Driver Parallel Lines and its also a nice game. GT4 i play 8+ hours a week, sometimes the entire afternoon drifting and racing and modding.

I still play almost every day, although like a lot of people I took a break around Christmas after I gave my copy to my nephew in a vain attempt to wean myself off: after a month I went out and bought another copy...

Since I completed the game, my playing has varied from completely aimless laps around the Nurb to joining in with some of the online challenges. I also have a ridiculous fetish for second-hand wheels, and love doing themed cars, such as a "riced up" black Civic type R with a big dumb wing and oversized, over-chromed five spokes:D

I now have all the cars I want from the game (around 480 of them...) having recently got hold of the blue Lancia Delta Integrale, but I can't be bothered to gold all the licences as there's only one Gold Licence prize car that I actually want: the brand new Jensen Interceptor, and I already have 8 used ones:indiff:

Bought GT4 on the first day out - and still play that game today.
I did some wallpapers for the release-date here in Europe in order to "celebrate" the first year of GT4, choosing one (photomode)-pic out of every month depicting a year.

And the only time i didn't engage too much in GT4 was in October last year. I "only" played some hours over the month, driving my GTOne and buying all S2000-versions that can be found in the game.
And I only managed to have one shot from then, which is the least I have done over the last 13 months.

Anyway... having 23.xxx kilometres in ASPEC right now (and 0 in BSPEC ;)), I'm pretty much through the game, with only the F1-championship and the 24h enduros being left, and they will be done this summer for sure.

I still try out new cars and thinks it's fun to get to know a car which handles very well - like the Accord Coupe (Import-Version) - or starting to like a track I haven't payed much attention before - like Motegi right now.
I can't understand why I didn't go there before :D

And there are still tons of cars I have to give a proper ride... Honda Prelude (late 90's), the Sileighty, the S13 Silvia, some S2000-versions, the Dome 0 and so on...

I took a very very long break when Forza came out. At least 6-8 month break. Mabey even longer than that. Then I played about 2 months ago for about a week and took lots of pics in photomode then beat some more events. I am sure I will play it on occasion but I just have soo many games to play on multiple systems that its impossible to think of one game. The best part of the game is winning cars. That was always my favorite part of the GT series. :)

I have had GT4 since fairly soon after it was released, I lost interest in it as I found it too easy with the DS2, but when I bought my wheel, I got right back into it, but as has been pointed out many times, life got in the way, other games came along, and GT4 got re-shelved, I have now dragged it back out, and am continuing from where I left off.

I still play other games more regularly than GT4, but this is simply due to the fact that I honestly don't find the physics and handling to be very accurate in GT4 *prepares for mass argument* and I prefer the damage engine in V8 Supercars 3

had the game almost 6 months... i started late :p ... completed the game... but i still dont find this game boring.. mainly because i use xlink and can drift online with ppl i know. something tourist trophy lacks, which im kinda disappointed in =/
