Yep, I'm stealing LoudMusic's thunder.

What is the longest uptime any of us have? I'm going to restrict this to current uptimes. (Anyone can say, "back in the day I had a computer up for 3 months...")

Right now, I don't have anything impressive.
11:12PM up 6 days, 9:08, 1 user, load averages: 0.16, 0.20, 0.24

One of GTP's old servers was online for more than 86 days. Then it crashed, of course. :grumpy:

I'm at 2 days now, but there was a power outage. Otherwise, it would have been about a week.

My record is 28 days for a main computer and 60 for our 333mhz "server."

Some good figures here. 👍

Jordan, I'm surprised the server was up for only 80-something days. Aren't server dowtimes supposed to be measured in minutes per year?

Is you server in your house, am planning on setting up a server on cable internet and I was just wondering how much a company like comcast charges for a static IP...

Maybe 20 hours? My computer goes to sleep after 1 hour and turns off the hard drives after 3 hours.

I dunno, a couple weeks probably… it could easily go longer (I've heard of people running OS X for several months at a time), but I shut it down every once in a while, else the virtual memory swap files get large enough that it starts slowing things down.

 It sits in my smelly basment. It has no heatsink, so we have two computer fans aimed at the 333hmz P3. I use it just for its 60GB hard drive, to back up crap.

Bring up the Command Prompt.

Type in net statistics workstation.

The date displayed is when Windows last started.

My one would be a very long time as it wasn't for the computer crashing sometimes. Longest I think it has been is a month.

Hmm. I've got a server on the client's network that hasn't been down since it was commissioned, on 16th May 2004. I'm disappointed with it, but the best I can do is our client's outgoing RAS server - 442 days, 22hrs, 24 minutes.

Needless to say, it's a NetWare 4.11 box. Sadly, the new RADIUS server isn't quite so reliable.

a small print and web server i adminster at work has been up for over a month now, it stays on all the time, considering it last went down on a saturday night at 8:47pm, i'm assuming that reboot was a power outage. it had been truly unavailable for about 20 minutes in the last 2 years, because the power supply fan started buzzing and i replaced it

i almost always keep my workstation at work on, rebooting once every 2 weeks or so to give windows 2000 a freshen up. in the past, i've had nt4 client machines on for 3-4 months at a time, that's with everyday use as a workstation. nothing is better than nt4, it sucks they killed usb support for it
