Hey guys, i'm looking to replace my current pos with a little better vehicle. I was wondering if you could help me find the best possible car. I have a little less than $7,000 to spend. I definitly want a 4cyl car. I'm on the fence about 2door vs. 4door. I definitly don't want an american car(no offense). I was thinking about an integra or a prelude for the 2door side of things and a Altima or Maxima for the 4door side of things. Any thoughts, suggestions or experiances would be very helpful.

You're definitely limiting yourself needlessly. I wouldn't rule out any cars based solely on nationality.

Altima and Maxima are both fair choices. My pick for you is a 1991-1996 Infinti G20. It's in your price range, sporty, luxurious, and one of the most reliable cars of all-time. The first year is 1991 and those can be had for under $2000; the last year was 1996 and is around $6000.

You should also check out the 1995-1997 Volkswagen Passat VR6, 1995-1999 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT, and 1994-1997 Volvo 850 Turbo. If you want a decent car but to save quite a bit of money, a 1997-2002 Mitsubishi Mirage is probably okay, but it's not as good as any of the cars above.

You said no American car, but nothing about a truck. A Ford Ranger with a 4 cyl. is great. There bulletproof if you ask me. Or if you want the crapptastic Mazda Truck its the same thing.

But if you must have a car and if it must be anti American I said Volks Golf, plenty of different ones out there and there pretty much all great. GTi is sweet but its a 6 cyl.
