After my 5th day in practicing with a wheel I have not made even a bit of progress. I know, it takes a while to finally be able to drift but 5 days I should be atleast learning something.

Anyways I need someone to watch me drift with my g27 and see what I'm doing wrong and what I should be doing.

Here is a list of my problems.

1.I cannot hold a drift without the wheel countersteering all the way and I eventually spin out.
2.I cannot countersteer correctly I either give it too little or way, way to much.
3.I cannot move the wheel like mad without me messing up and crashing (after you first go in the corner then countersteer when the time is right I can't keep switching it right to countersteer mode to turn in mode.
4.I CANNOT exit a corner at ALL the wheel gets all jittery and i lose controll I try to hold onto the wheel and keep it straight but it keeps moving around.

Yes Practice is key but sometimes practicing the wrong way can achieve bad habits.

Cars I am using
Mazda rx7 gt-x
bmw z4m
dodge viper srt10

I was holding proper drifts within two days on the DFGT, coming smoothly out of them took a few more. It could be the way you're approaching wheel drifting altogether. If you have a mic, add my SFX account on PSN and I'll help you with all the little things that bothered me when first starting.

I hope to hear from you soon. 👍

Edit: after reading what problems you're having again, I've realized I have the answer to all of them, but its something that I need to see first hand when drifting with you in order to help.

I'll add you in a bit I got dissection worksheets to do.

I was the same until I started to go back to how I learned how to drift in the real world such as not trying to run before you can crawl.

I was first trying to drift corners with the wheel as I was with the pad and it just wasn't working.

Started off doing little drifts then with shallow angles etc and not silly entries and it gradually came together for me and now I'm able to drift every corner of a few tracks on successive laps. It's still not completely fluid and some drifts aren't perfect with a few little mistakes but I'm getting there.

When you get to the stage where you can string a few corners together, it becomes much more satisfying and easier to stick at it too as even though practice makes perfect it can be very easy to give up at the star.

Also for the Z4, try HKS-D1's tune in the "wheel settings" thread. Very good tune which was a good help for me with mine although I fiddled with them abit and opted for slightly stiffer springs once I got the hang of drifting with the wheel enough to be able to setup a car the way I liked.

I have a room for wheel users up there now if anybody wants to join and practice.

If I can point anybody in the right direction I'll watch them drift and see if I can help too.
