I've been looking for some routers in order to be able to have my laptop off my sister's room. (the connection comes from there). So, I want to get my laptop into my room, where my DFP is, so naturally I need a router.

I need some help in specifically what to look for, as I am a noob into it. I have WinXP Professional SP 2 by the way.

I believe I need an extra wireless card in order to put it on my laptop, but I want a wireless one that can also be non-wireless (you know what I mean).
 
D-Link's DI-624 might be somewhere along the lines of what you're looking for. My home network uses it to support both our wired network and wireless network in order to split out our cable broadband internet connection. It even supports 802.11g/b.

I believe this is the model we purchased, but there appear to be several other versions of it now.

Thanks for the information but I am looking for a wireless router + network card combo pack. I am just looking into it right now, and the DWL-923 comes up. Is the 923 as good as the 624?
