Hi everyone. I'm fed up with the ridiculousness of non-GTP lobbies. Not trying to sound like an elitist here, but GTP lobbies are handled much better than ones run by amateurs. I have looked through some of the racing leagues here on GTP, but I'm not sure which one is right for me. And its tough navigating through forums with 100+ pages. I can never tell if the OP is updated to show when a new race will occur, or if the league relies on using the most recent posts to show when a race is scheduled. I am a fairly decent racer with quite a lot of experience, especially on technical tracks like the Nürburgring and I try to be as clean as possible. When I get hit off the track, I always wait for my opponents to pass so I don't ruin the race for them. I'm looking for a league with a lot of patience for drivers who aren't "pros" or ones that get perfect times every lap. I use a regular DualShock 3 controller, with every assist off including ABS. I typically drive street cars with a few modifications. I am interested in one-make spec leagues with lower-end sports cars like the Mazda Miata as I have a bad habit of trying to drift higher-horsepower cars around turns on sports hard tires.

If your league has a few spots open, please contact me via a private message. Moderators, please be nice. I'm only trying to put my name out there.

EDIT: My timezone is EST

In my sig, DeadNutsEven. A unique formula, everyone is dead nuts even on the track because you qualify to a fixed time with whatever PP car you need to get there. Takes a bit of getting used to but it's the closest racing you will ever find on GT5. Many of us race without ABS but it's optional. Usually lower PP races 380-450. Good bunch of guys too.

Only way to find out is to try one, or two, or three.

Most leagues rely heavily on the OP. Any information you need should be there 99% of the time. If not, no harm in asking.

A majority of the leagues on here will accept anyone. Again, best to look around and find something you might like and go from there.

I know several people that still use a DS3, and even some that use it without ABS. They are very good too. I wouldn't necessarily call it a handicap.

👍

I've just set up a club, here's the link. We specialise in Vehicle-Tuning-Prohibited racing for experienced drivers like yourself. The only aid we allow is ABS, & even that's optional. We are looking for a high level of competence, as we race with damage on Heavy & Penalties off! If it sound like your cup of tea, read the first 3 posts, & then sign up.

All the best,

Martin.

GBRC welcomes drivers of all abilities. Generally race formal championships on Thursday and Sunday evenings around 8pm GMT.

Other nights we organise 'casual' get togethers when the emphasis is on fun and trying out new car/track combos.

Not sure if your location will make it work, but you can check out the links in my sig to find out more

*derp* I forgot to say my timezone is EST.

Join the WRS. Not only the cleanest and best racers here on GTPlanet, but you will also learn stuff along the way which will help improve your driving skills.

You could still race with us on weekends, just subtract 5 hours from the start time shown. For example, if we're racing at 3pm UK time, you'd turn up at 10am EST. Also, if you had a Monday or Wednesday free, do the same. We race at 7:30pm, so you'd join us at 2:30pm EST. In the second post in the Stock Club thread there's a link to the current time in the UK, just use that & you should be fine.

👍

Seeing as you're EST, I'd recommend that you join SNAIL as they cater for your timezone.

CallmeDan: EST zone, but how late can you stay up and which days do you race? If you can stay a bit past midnight on Sundays, I'd recommend you try SNAIL.

They are pretty organized and well-structured. And you'll be racing people of similar skill.

On a weekday these days there's very little that's run regularly and EST-friendly. WRS guys run on Wednesdays, but they are more tailored to the west coast.
Johnny few posts above linked to their league. Their format is unique, so have a look too and see if that's for you.

On a weekend there's still plenty of series to choose from.

Obviously, the most modest too.

I play almost everyday of the week. Weekdays I'm not allowed to play past 9:00. On weekends I typically don't play past 11 as I get tired and it ruins my concentration playing in the dark.
