Hey forum,

im looking for a new 24" (gaming) monitor.

Was browsing amazon and google to find great monitors, but there are 100million awesome monitors but noticed that ASUS and VIEWSONIC are on most top 5 monitor lists !

Just a quick note on what i want:
24" - 60cm
FULL HD - 1080p
preferably 2x HDMI ports
LED
preferably headset plug in
shouldnt exceed 200 euro

thanks all!

I can't really point you to a specific monitor, however I can vouch for Viewsonic.

I have a (now discontinued) 24" Viewsonic VX2439WM, it's an LCD. It has HDMI, VGA, DVI and audio out ports. I couldn't be happier... I mean this so much that I've been scouring eBay in hopes of finding new, leftover stock from someone but I haven't been lucky. I want two more for my triple screen cockpit project. :D

is it 24"? whats the costs? i wouldnt mind paying 250 for 3D but 200 - 250 euros is my limit

I think the Sony 24" Playstation 3D monitor is twice your budget.

Anyway here is a monitor that seems to tick all your boxes: http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/9127042/art/iiyama/prolite-e2473hds-b1-23-6.html

You wil probably be able to find it cheaper as you understand the language ;)

Here is a couple more online shops, don't know shipping cost so one of them might be cheaper potentially:

My grandma just bought a new Samsung 24" and it's pretty amazing. Has everything you want but also LED with LCD backlit. The contrast ratio is 3,000,000 to 1.

My 91 year old gramma bought a 30 something inch sony 2 years ago. Is there a problem with grammas getting nice things ;) lol

I picked up three of these for my triple screen GT5 setup and have been very happy with them.

http://www.iiyama-monitors.co.uk/products/E2409HDS-B1.aspx

Can get them for £130 - £140 if you look around.

checked them out and read some reviews and got an everage score of 7/10.
One monitor incl shipping would cost me way over my budget :(

thanks for that, and the price looks really good but the reviews i read about the iiyama arent that promising.

Im currently looking into Acer 24 LED monitors

I bought a BenQ E2420HD
and it's brilliant.

and ticks all your boxes.
2x HDMI
Headphone/ audio out via 3.5mm stereo jack and built in speakers too

How about this one then? http://www.pixmania.at/at/de/3867329/art/acer/s243hlabmii-led-bildschir.html

If you want the same monitor / TV as me, get this: http://www.preiscompany.de/AOC-LE24K097-Sonstige-Produkte-p-1864340000.html

Don't know if they ship to Austria though. I got mine for £129.99 in the UK. Bargain for what it is. 24" LED DVB TV with 2 HDMI and also Scart, Component and VGA. The USB port can play back 1080p files in containers such as MP4 and MKV which is also another positive. The speakers are awesome too for the size and there is also a built in power supply which makes things even better. 3 year warranty too. The problem lies within the bylaw that states: "Grandmas may only posses and operate a two tone CRT monitor for personal entertainment pleasure" ... so your granny is really looking for serious trouble with her 30" flat panel. :p

Better go edit my post and hide her tv on my rig then.

Que missionimpossible/jamesbond/spyhunter theme songs!!!

Luckily mine only got the 24" lol

I was fretting about which monitor to get but after speaking with Phil T I went for the Viewsonic. Got to say im quite impressed, its solid and my games are looking great.

Heres my thread, I think Phil T has called his thread Gamepod GTX #2, should be some stuff in there about the monitor.

We're monitor buddies. I have that same monitor and I'm very happy with it. 👍

The bad thing is, it's been discontinued and I haven't been very succesful finding more. :(

It doesn't have two HDMI :sly: and no headphone socket as far as I know. Review is not too good especially if you are using it for gaming: http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-monitor/acer-s242hl-p9809/test.html . The IIYAMA one fared better: http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-monitor/iiyama-prolite-e2473hds-p10816/test.html

Anyway checked on amazon.de if they have the TV / Monitor I have.

It seems more expensive than going direct with PreisCompany on the link in my previous post. They have very good reviews on that site so you should be able to return it if you did change your mind. Also there is a customer review of the product, all I understand is the 5 stars left ;). My version has 2 HDMI, don't know if the one in the German market does.

Coxis, so you recommend going with a Viewsonic cause I was thinking bout getting my nephew a TV for his birthday this coming spring and He's only 16 so don't really need to pay alot but at same time don't wanna settle for low Quality either since you own one and sounded happy, I got interested in Viewsonic.

Thanks, man. Where have you found them other than eBay? Most of the ones I've found are refurbished and way too expensive. Almost as much as mine cost brand new.
