Hi, i've had this Epson Photo 830 for a couple of years now, and it's been ok, but recently i've found that i'm getting these awful black splodges and white lines all over my stuff. I've cleaned the print heads, but it just moves to a different colour, or even more colours. I've also noticed that the overall quality has just been getting worse and worse over the past year.

So, i've decided to get something a bit newer and more reliable. What i'm after:

  • Any brand, bar HP. I've had HPs before and loathed them.
  • Must cost no less than £150, and that's stretching it
  • I'm not bothered about features, or having a scanner built in, but i'd love an A3 printer with all this graphics work ...
  • Needs to be reliable enough to last me a few years atleast
  • I don't want print cartridges to cost a great deal. Or if they do, i want to find a cheap version :D
Thanks

Jon. :)

I have a Lexmark P4350, what is a Photo printer, scanner, and a copier in one, with a LCD screen. It costs about £100, but you may have to by a USB A plug to B Plug, because the instruction manual says that it may have a cable or not.

The cartrages cost £11.92 for the black cartrage and £13.99 for the colour cartrage. I do not know about the relyability, because I have had it since christmas. :)

I don't know if it prints A3 because I haven't tried. ;)

Got the cable already :) I've had a lexmark before, but that was windows 3.1 time ... If it's an a3 printer, you'd know. Trust me  Stuff the a3 actually, there's too expensive. Oooh, one thing. I noticed that they have black, photo and colour cartridges. Do they all go in at once, or do you have to take certain ones out like the old one we had?

Ok, does anyone know what the canon printers are like? They sound pretty good.
