As many of the people that frequent the Race Reports section of the GT5 forums here on GTPlanet, I have a racing wheel. A very cantankerous G25 that works only 25% of the time, and I'm sure it's because there are wiring issues.

Since it is the holiday season, my parents offered to get me a replacement for the time being until we can finally get around to fixing the old girl. Due to us trying to save money, the price range of getting a new wheel has dropped down. Down from about $150 to about $50-75.

I noticed that there aren't many wheels in that price range, and the only ones that were were cheap and generally unfavorable piles of junk.

There were two that caught my eye - the Ferrari ones from Thrustmaster, specifically the Ferrari GT Experience Racing Wheel.

Would this be a good buy, or should I wait and fix the G25? (I don't mind getting a new one, I'd like something different for a change. Been using the DS3 controller for a while, and it's getting... old when I use it for everything else.)

I can tell you, that coming from a G25 and moving to the Ferrari Experience wheel is a huge step downwards. Good chance that you are very disappointed with this wheel...

Well I'd recommend at least cracking the G25 open to have a look, it could just be a bad USB cable and they're really easy to fix. Depends how handy you are with soldering and such but it would be a shame to waste it if it's fixable.

I would advise fully against one of those two... the DFGT is the only way to go and I'm sure you could pick a used one up as people are always upgrading. You could even use your G25 pedals with a little rewiring since DFGT's are major crap.
